Our Hope Heya Masr for Society Development

Our mission is to restore a sense of dignity and pride in young Egyptian women by building their self-confidence and empowering them mentally and physically to develop themselves. Heya Masr targets disadvantaged young girls and boys aged 6-18 to strengthen their character. We do this by providing a safe and nurturing environment for physical activities, nutritional and healthy lifestyle education, character development activities, sexual harassment, and bullying awareness and self-defense strategies. We believe that to make an impact, and we need to educate both young women and men equally. Heya Masr is empowering a young generation of girls and boys now for a better Egypt tomorrow. Heya Masr uniquely targets girls at an early age since we rely on UN studies (1) that indicate that behavioral changes occur at the early stages of development. This approach helps us equip women with mechanisms to rise above the negative impacts of extreme deprivation, abuse, and other adversities in their most formative years of development. We seek a proactive impact on women during adolescence to become stronger, more confident, and independent, thereby positively influencing future generations in Egypt. Georgia Rescue Rehabilitation & Relocation

Founded in 2011, GRRR is a small 501(c)(3)  rescue organization that serves Chatham County in coastal Georgia as well as the surrounding counties in the area.  Based in Savannah, we are dedicated to rescuing dogs from owners who are no longer able to care for them, from public shelters without a "no-kill" policy and from situations where a dog has suffered abuse or neglect.  We are committed to helping dogs of all ages and believe that no matter what the age or health condition of a dog, we are dedicated to insuring that every dog deserves love, care and compassion.  All dogs rescued by GRRR are then spayed or neutered, receive full veterinary treatment, immunizations and microchips.  We are a foster based organization and all dogs are placed in loving foster homes while awaiting adoption

Sound Aloud

Founded in 2016, Sound Aloud exists to equip this generation with the tools to find their voice (identity), release their sound (purpose), and live it ALOUD (unashamed); becoming the sound of freedom to this world. Our heart as a ministry is to use the Creative Arts (fine, performing, visual), holistic health, and mentoring/outreach programs to unleash the treasure that is buried just beneath the surface of our “generationals”. We do this to spark the creative, and vivid imaginations that need motivation and training - the type of training that prepares them to become confident young men and women, and the hope of our future. Our programs and services create positive outlets, give support, nurture dreams, send a message of hope, deal with issues that this generation face, bring cultural awareness, cross religious and cultural boundaries, provide discipleship, help build confidence, build strong self-esteem, character, and create teamwork and connection.

THE DANCING ON THE EDGE FESTIVAL

The Dancing on the Edge Festival was launched 1988 as a project of the Firehall Theatre Society developed in response to a surge in dance activity in Vancouver and a need for presentation opportunities for dance artists from across Canada. Due to the success of the festival, in 1998 the Firehall was encouraged to create an independent body, the Dancing on the Edge Festival Society, with the support and encouragement from all three levels of funding bodies. Since that time, the Festival has opened doors and provided commission, residency, professional development and presentation support for the majority of British Columbia dance makers, and for many of Canada’s leading artists and companies, including Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Wen Wei Dance, Margie Gillis, Fortier Danse, Kidd Pivot, etc. In 2013, the Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary, a tremendous landmark for the Festival and for the celebration, presentation and health of contemporary dance in Canada.
