The Denver School of the Arts is a comprehensive secondary arts magnet school (grades 6-12) in Denver Public Schools. In addition to a rigorous academic program, students engage in intensive studies in Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Stagecraft and Design, Theatre, Video Cinema Arts, and Visual Arts. The Friends of the Library are an enthusiastic group of people who value libraries, and the services they provide to the community. These community minded individuals help promote awareness of the library’s programs and services to aid in raising funds to meet special library needs. Spring Creation Program : A 13-week performance creation program offered to young women 14-21. Each participant is paired with a professional mentor who specializes in an artistic discipline. The group works together to create a performance that receives three public showings at Theatre Passe Muraille. The group also shares a weekly meal, and takes part in other group activities. Summer Performance Program: A 3-week summer intensive offered to AMY graduates and emerging female artists between 15-26. Working with the draft of the Spring performance, the summer session focuses on honing performance skills, exploring staging, and developing a production design. The program culminates in a full series of performances at the Summerworks Theatre Festival. Graduate Program: Created, developed, and managed by AMY Alumni, the Graduate Program offers advanced mentorships, professional skill-building workshops, social outings, and leadership opportunities.
The organization presents professional orchestral performances to the Yampa Valley while also running music-education programs and community outreach. In short, it aims to bring orchestral music into the heart of the community and make music education accessible and compelling for people of all ages.
