The International Board on Books for Young People believes in the ability of children's books to bridge cultures and, ultimately, to promote peace. IBBY Canada connects Canadians with those abroad who share this common purpose. Donations to IBBY Canada help build libraries and support literacy programs such as the Children in Crisis Fund; support national authors, illustrators, and storytellers on the international stage; and bring books to children all over the world.

Our vision is to broaden and deepen interest in Rudolf Steiner and his philosophy of Spiritual Science by such programs as: introduction to anthroposophy, Exploration, Foundation Studies, Connections, Parent education, and professional training in early Childhood, elementary and high school teaching certification. The Rudolf Steiner Centre Toronto was certified as an educational institution by Human Resources Development Canada in 1996. We issue certificates of course completion for all our programs.
The Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance intertwines and connects all facets of the fiber arts community. Open to anyone with an interest in fiber, yarn, fabric, or textiles, SEFAA celebrates, supports, promotes, and perpetuates all fiber art forms. We do so by offering classes, workshops, tours, open studio hours, events, and exhibitions as well as rental space for fiber-related events and studio artists.
Their goals and objectives are: To establish channels to promote Yoruba culture, economy, political welfare, language, and tradition in Africa and in the Diaspora. Foment the economic empowerment of Yoruba community in southern California. To teach, maintain and promote knowledge about Yoruba culture and folklore to the young generation of Yoruba descents in Southern California. To collaborate and partner with other Yorubas organization around the globe. Enhance Yoruba development through project undertaking and implementation To help the Yoruba community to maintain stability, equity, justice, and opportunity. The Philadelphia Sinfonia youth orchestras support the artistic growth of young musicians in the Delaware Valley by providing high-level ensemble experience in a supportive educational environment. We believe that the pursuit of excellence requires performers with integrity, working together toward a common goal. Thus, our mission is three-fold: to provide ensemble performance opportunities for young musicians, to achieve the highest level of artistic advancement, and to educate young people broadly to be strong citizens and leaders as well as responsible musicians. We recruit from a demographically diverse student population to provide an opportunity to anyone who musically qualifies and to enrich the experience of all members of the organization.
Founded in 1989, the Literacy Foundation is a non-profit organization whose specific mandates are: organization of fund-raising activities, awareness, support to organizations, prevention and referral. Our vision of the future is for each person to be able to acquire the ability to understand and use written information in order to improve his knowledge, enhance his potential and achieve full self-actualization. In Quebec, 16% and in Canada, 15% of the population aged 16-65 are on the lowest rung of the reading ability scale according to the International Adult Literacy and Skills Survey. Much remains to be done ... Only 2% of illiterate individuals undertake literacy training. Help us fill in the blank!
The mission of the Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF) is to provide critically needed financial support and advocacy to the Lake Tahoe-Donner State Parks for education, interpretation, restoration and preservation consistent with the mission of California State Parks. We fund projects and educational programs that connect park visitors with our rich natural resources and cultural heritage. Because of this work and advocacy our parks will continue to be places of education and inspiration for generations to come.
