Viet American Youth Association

Mid-Autumn Youth Summit (MAYS), a regional celebration that creates sports and educational competitions for Santa Clara and San Mateo County high school students to play and learn about Vietnamese culture with the purpose to preserve and extend Vietnamese American heritage. MAYS is organized by Viet-American Youth Association (VietAYA) and its Coalition, composed of education and community leaders who care about the success of students. Our goal is to foster leadership skills through teamwork which allows students to build trust and stronger bonds amongst each other. Annually, we have between 250 - 450 student participates, representing 6 -12 schools across the Bay Area. The following programs to participating students: Scholarships for juniors and seniors, life-skill leadership workshops, Olympics games, Cultural Jeopardy contest, Public Speaking contest, Cultural Pitch game, Debate, and Cultural Talent Show contest.

In the words of Executive Director John Echohawk, They ask for nothing more, and will accept nothing less than the U.S. Government keeping the promises it has made to Native Americans." NARF currently represents more than 60 tribes in 20 states on a wide range of critical matters, including land into trust, federal recognition, subsistence hunting & fishing, federal trust responsibilities, protection of sacred places, voting rights, sovereign immunity, Indian Child Welfare, water rights and environmental issues.

INSTITUTE FOR CROSS-CULTURAL EXCHANGE (ICE) / INSTITUT D'ECHANGES INTERCULTURELS

The Institute for Cross-cultural Exchange (ICE)/Institut d'échanges interculturels (IEI) is a Canadian charity (number 86260 1077 R0001) dedicated to promoting cross-cultural education. It encourages learning about other cultures and understanding between them. Our current priority is to donate high quality illustrated folk tales from the Middle East and Central Asia to literacy programs helping children in need. ICE is administered and staffed entirely by volunteers. This means that 100% of donated funds go toward the printing and shipping of books for disadvantaged children.
