Mission The Dixfield Historical Society is a non-profit 501-c3 corporation whose purpose is to collect and preserve artifacts and data from Dixfield’s past, protect current historical materials and promote through education the desire for future generations to honor and respect their heritage.

Founded in 1978, Opus 40 is an earthwork sculpture park and arts center dedicated to preserving the integrity of its living artwork, making the artwork available to the public as a museum, performance space, and educational facility, and to enlivening the legendary story of its creation with an on-site museum.

Wallace Depot Commission is listed as a small, local history-museum nonprofit focused on the Wallace train depot. Its activities appear aimed at preserving and operating the historic depot and supporting museum/exhibit and educational programs about local railroad and community history.

The society preserves and shares the history of Summit Hill by collecting and caring for local artifacts and records, operating a small museum/heritage center, and running community programs and events (educational exhibits, fundraisers and local-history activities) to keep the borough’s heritage accessible to residents and visitors.

The National WASP WWII Museum is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Our mission is to educate and inspire all generations with the story of the WASP—the first women to fly America's military aircraft—who forever changed the role of women in aviation.

Fine Arts Discovery Series Inc. operates the Sherman Theater and related venues to present, preserve, and promote the performing and visual arts in Monroe County. The organization programs concerts, community festivals, educational performances, and gallery/annex activities to foster public appreciation of music and fine arts.

Winterthur preserves and interprets the decorative arts and landscapes assembled by Henry Francis du Pont, operating a large historic house museum, a naturalistic garden, and a research library. The institution cares for the collection, conducts scholarship and conservation, and provides exhibitions and educational programs to engage the public with American material culture.

The mission of the 16th Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, Museum of Confederate History, is to protect, preserve and defend the memory, history and heritage of the two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallant Confederate soldiers who gave their lives during the War Between the States. In fact the Museum will honor all those who served the cause of the Confederate States of America. Foremost is the duty to provide a true and accurate historical perspective of the War period in an educational manner and to preserve the cultural heritage and artifacts of the South. Central to this mission of education is the development and maintenance of an extensive research library in conjunction with the Museum. This library will be available without cost to the public for genealogical research as well as research on the War and related issues. The Museum Board of Directors welcomes all who search for the TRUTH.

Friends of the Marine Science Center is a registered 501 C (3) non-profit group dedicated to assisting the Marine Science Center in fundraising to further their mission of sea turtle and shorebird rehabilitation, conservation medicine; and marine education. All proceeds from their online, event and gift shop sales goes to further their mission.

The mission of the Museum is to support and promote public interest, awareness, knowledge and education within the visual arts in Southern California. To this end, the Corporation shall, among other things, develop and maintain a collection of original works of art of the highest artistic merit dedicated to preserving the timeless art of storytelling within a uniquely creative museum environment.
