MONCTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Moncton Public Library contributes to the quality and vitality of life in the community. By reaching out to people from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds, local businesses and other community organizations through its books, materials, and programs, the library makes the City of Moncton a better place to live. With the population of the city growing at an impressive rate and the ever-rising costs of books and materials, the Moncton Public Library has reached the point at which the needs of the community extend beyond available funds. In response to these expanding needs and shrinking budgets, the Moncton Public Library Board has committed seeking ways to increase its ability to purchase books and other materials and to continue to offer all of its exciting programming.

Left Coast Chamber Ensemble Inc

We forge connections through stirring presentations of chamber music across the Bay Area. Left Coast Chamber Ensemble makes connections between composer and performer, performer and audience, audience and music, and between musics of all eras by staging a spectrum of imaginative programs that enchant and delight the listener, and gives diverse audiences multiple entry points for engaging with the music. Founded in 1992, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble communicates with audiences through inspiring performances of new and old chamber music. By embracing both musics, we enrich the audience’s experience — we reawaken a feeling of immediacy in performances of familiar masterpieces and we reveal the powerful expressive intentions in the music of our time. The ensemble’s twelve musicians, many of whom have played together since the 1980s, perform in different combinations, using strings, winds, guitar and piano to present a wide range of repertoire. The group has commissioned over 55 new works, sponsors an annual composition contest that draws over 150 applicants each year, and carries on a tradition of performing the very best that the composers of today (whether established or emerging) have to offer.

Dandelion Dancetheater

Dandelion Dancetheater is situated at the crossroads of dance, theater, music, community activism, healing, and new performance forms. The company is committed to the individual and intersecting artistic visions of Kimiko Guthrie and Eric Kupers. Our work is built from a fascination with interdisciplinary experimentation, in-depth collaboration, vulnerability, risk-taking, and the truths that come from looking at the world from an “outsider” perspective. We view the exploration of the endless possibilities of the human body as a potent means for personal and collective growth and share this exploration with diverse populations through performance, teaching, speaking, community events, video, and writing. As an organization, Dandelion Dancetheater is a launching pad and creative home for several ongoing, in-depth projects. Most projects involve multiple branches of Dandelion, and so stretch across categories.
