Shakespeare on the Sound is committed to producing affordable, professional open-air productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and related authors in Fairfield County. Working in collaboration with area civic, business and educational institutions, Shakespeare on the Sound presents an annual theatre festival, which brings great dramatic works to a broad audience, creating a forum for learning, appreciation and celebration. Our Educational programming goal is to build community through the arts, giving the works of Shakespeare a vibrant life beyond the summer festival with a variety of school, library, adult education, and art programs as a means to reach a diverse cross-section of people of all ages and economic backgrounds.

The mission of The Gift is to tell great stories onstage with honesty and simplicity. The Gift believes a play never closes until everyone who saw it stops thinking about it and that art is, at its best, a sacred conversation between actor and audience, revealing the joy and pain of being human. In other words, a gift.

Raven Drum Foundation provides wellness-support programs that serve, educate, and empower veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors. It uses music- and rhythm-based approaches (healing drum circles), plus mindfulness and complementary therapies (breathwork, movement, guided visualization, equine work, etc.) to help participants manage trauma symptoms and build resilience.

The mission of the Theatre of the Republic (TOR) is to be a major cultural resource. We shall do so by providing affordable, quality theatre which provides diversity in our offerings to the community. This includes diversity in the selection of plays produced, diversity in the content of the programs presented, diversity in the casts and production crews who participate, and diversity in the opportunities provided to experienced and aspiring artists. We believe it is important that TOR engender inclusiveness that cuts across racial lines, gender roles, religious views, socio-economic status, age groups, and sexual orientation for both the artists and the community.

The organization works to make performing arts and dance training accessible to youth in the Detroit area by removing financial barriers — awarding scholarships and supporting tuition, workshops, and intensives so talented young dancers can access training and performance opportunities.
