CMI is a church-building ministry. By providing biblically sound and scientifically accurate answers to questions people have about Genesis and the creation/evolution issue we build up believers in their faith. With offices internationally, we employ more PhD scientists than any other Christian organization. Our website (creation.com) features nearly 10,000 faith-building articles summarizing more than 35 years of creationist research. The Canadian office produces CMI's TV show Creation Magazine LIVE! in addition to other teaching videos made available for free on the Internet. These programs, along with speaking events happening all over Canada are funded entirely by Canadian supporters.
In 2003, CCI opened the Rainbow Centre in Andhra Pradesh in India which, up until 2009, took in about one hundred child labourers. Caught up in the endless cycle of slavery, these children used to labour in conditions that threatened their safety and development. Together with their families, they now enjoy health care, and access to education and career training as well as to microcredit programmes. In 2010, CCI enrolled them in the best schools in their area, where they are getting very good grades; these children are closer now than ever to their dream of holding a decent job.Since 2009, CCI finances the administration costs of the Santikham Centre outside Bangkok, Thailand, which is managed by the Foundation for Child Development, a Thai non-governmental organisation. FCD strives to better the lives of child labourers and their families, who have illegally crossed into Thailand and are thus particularly vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation.
We facilitate the linking of Canadian volunteers (including those from ethnic communites, recent university graduates and retirees) with indigenous organizations and their humanitarian initiatives in third world countries. We provide management and technical support to these volunteers as well as tax-deductible receipts for their donors. Our service enables volunteer Canadian 'humanitarians' and their third world partners to implement projects in health, water, agro- forestry, income generation and education. In short - We help people help people!
We believe that education is an important way of helping children grow. With an education, as children grow, they can get a job, buy a home, and become a productive part of society. With an education children gain knowledge, gain understanding, and are able to understand the world around them.
