Our charitable work is focused on ensuring that everyone has a chance to grow, to learn and to realize their dreams. We believe that everyone, even those from families with limited financial means, deserve to be welcomed into an inclusive, integrated environment that promotes equality, shared values and where self-worth is nourished. The generosity of our donors helps support us in creating YMCA programs that are relevant, affordable, and accessible.

Founded in 1999, the FGM is modeled after the 700-odd community foundations that already exist in Canada and the United States. Their versatility, flexibility, and effectiveness allow these foundations to satisfy both the wishes of donors and the needs of the charitable organizations they benefit. The FGM differs from other charitable organizations in that it builds endowment funds, the revenues from which are used to support charitable work in a number of areas, primarily health, education, social development, arts and culture, and the environment. Donations to the FGM thus serve the Greater Montreal community in perpetuity.

The Olive Tree Foundation was founded in 2004 by civic leaders and philanthropists. The Foundation is a charitable organization formed to attract and manage permanent endowment funds and to distribute income from those funds back to the community. We provide grants to registered charitable organizations for projects that maintain or improve quality of life in the community. Our fields of interest include: - Social, Community and Health Services - Education and Library Services - Policy Institutes and Think Tanks - Arts, Culture and Heritage - Children, Youth, & Family - Seniors - Environment - Community Economic Development

APJ Canada's immediate goal is to serve children and their families in the poorest communities in Haiti by supporting programs focused on education, health and dignity, through the Academy for Peace and Justice, the first free secondary school in Port-au-Prince. APJ Canada is proud to follow a 100% policy - 100% of public donations go directly to our programs in Haiti. Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, we have a well-established reputation as a leader in safety education. We continually check our environment to identify gaps in safety promotion and seek to meet the need, either through individual effort or with the many health and safety-related organizations throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario that we cooperate with. Our programs include: Safety Education & Courses for Children & Youth Children's Summer Camp Defensive Driving Motorcycle Training Programs Adult Crossing Guard Program

We're part of an organization that spans the world and provides an opportunity every two years to bring the various groups together in a friendly Contest of Seamanship. The youth involved in the program learn to row and sail a 38’ captain’s gig, building a team, making new friendships, a new understanding and trust that develops them in to ambassadors representing their country. Throughout the world, programs like the one in Canada offer opportunities for youth to continually learn to adapt and overcome each challenge they encounter along their course. Skills are developed through participants exploring their personal boundaries, both physically and mentally in a controlled and safe manner. Each year, we offer training opportunities to youth from across Canada in our programs and to develop new skills. The majority of these programs have been in Ontario although youth travel around the world to participate with other member organizations.

Boston Dance Alliance builds capacity for dance by identifying and creating shared resources, information, and productive partnerships to help dance flourish across the Boston metropolitan area and New England region. We are an independent service organization representing dancers, choreographers, teachers, presenters, allied arts and cultural professionals, arts journalists and scholars, wellness and health providers, and dance enthusiasts brought together across dance genres and geographies. BDA strives to increase cultural equity and access to dance for diverse communities, build dance audiences, and promote quality and sustainability.

Mission of Mercy Canada is a Christian organization which exists to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of the hurting children and adults of north east India by feeding, housing, educating and providing health and wellness care. Our vision is to see the children of India who live in poverty, experience transformation and wholeness through God's love. We can only succeed in fulfilling our mission to help children and the poor in India when people like you are involved and informed about the needs and opportunities! Through the establishment of a joint partnership agreement with Bolivian grassroots organization, Fundación Niños con Valor, BCF implements programs and projects that aim to alleviate poverty and its effects suffered by children and their families. These currently include residential programs for children who have been orphaned, abandoned or removed from high-risk situations. In the future, we hope to expand and include outreach programs to help stabilize at-risk-families, and community programs aimed at establishing new and supporting existing educational and health programs specifically benefiting mothers and children.

Financial assistance requests on behalf of needy children can only be produced by primary school principals or CLSC’s (Local community service center) caregivers. This assistance must have a direct positive impact on children’s life in schools. Here are some examples. Health and welfare: glasses, meals, clothing; Homework lessons trainings; Supply and school materials; Daycare or transportation expenses; Specialized services: occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, etc. Cultural activities; Scholarships in arts or sports. Nearly 3,000 children benefit from a financial assistance every year.

The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) has supported graduate study, literacy and the creative arts through awards and grants since its founding in 1919. Since 1921 CFUW has awarded more than $1,000,000 on the Fellowships, Grants and Awards that it offers annually for Canadian women for post-graduate study in Canada and abroad. CFUW's National Fellowship and Award recipients have produced work in a variety of academic areas, including international humanitarian efforts, feminist and gender analysis, advanced science and engineering, medicine, public health, and social justice.

KV3C is a registerd charitable organization which offers universal programs that have supported families in the Kennebecasis Valley (KV) since 2001. Our programs have attracted families beyond KV as we have participating families from Sussex to Grand Bay-Westfield. Through awareness, parenting support, education and direct programming, we strive to provide quality learning opportunities which foster and enhance children’s holistic development (social, emotional, mental and physical). Because we know children learn best through play our program formats are play-based and promote learning in all elements of learning – social, physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. Research has shown that the care, nurturing and enrichment that children receive in early childhood have a major impact on the rest of their lives. It is our goal to have a direct and positive effect on the well being of young children in the surrounding communities.
