Toronto Public Library Foundation was established in 1997 as a registered charity. Since its inception, Toronto Public Library Foundation has raised over $55 million in support of Toronto Public Library priority needs. The Foundation's long-range goal is to build an endowment fund that will generate sufficient income to support enhanced library programs, collections and services in perpetuity. The urgent needs for the Library include: improved and expanded collections, enhanced programs and services, upgraded technology, and revitalized community spaces to respond to the changing needs of the people of Toronto. The VCC Foundation exists to help you in your support for our students. By helping them reach their goals and realize their dreams, we can better our communities. Each donation made to the foundation has an impact. Without the generosity of donors who fund scholarships and bursaries, many students would be unable to complete their post-secondary education. Contributions are helping to provide new learning spaces, and donations of equipment and current technology to enhance student learning. The Foundation seeks to stimulate financial support for the students and programs at VCC, to ensure the prudent management of funds received and to encourage the community's goodwill toward the college. It is a registered non-profit organization with a volunteer board of directors.

The Clifford Bowey School Foundation is managed by the School Council which includes parents and staff members. The Foundation raises money to support school programs and new initiatives. Over past years, donations to the school have contributed towards the Snoezelen room, swimming pool equipment, items for the toy library, and classroom learning materials. The school recently installed a new primary playground and is currently raising funds to upgrade the senior playground.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SOCRATES FOUNDATION The initiative to create an Educational Foundation was the brain child of a group of parents who filed an application with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for the purpose of creating a non-profit charitable organization. In filing their application, their objective was to strive to raise funds for the purpose of providing financial support for the advancement and/or enrichment of trilingual (French, Greek & English) education in Canada.The path of navigating a request through Charities Canada proved to be a long and difficult undertaking.With financial contributions received from different individuals, the final obstacles were overcome and after four long years the “Socrates Educational Foundation” (SEF) obtained its charitable operations number, effective August 1, 2003.

An investment in the Calgary Police Foundation and its programs will help ensure Calgary’s youth have access to help and guidance when they need it most, to leadership and positive role-models, and to structured activities with reliable oversight. CPF programs will give our children and youth the tools to become strong, contributing members of our community. What does the CPF do? Driven by the need for structured programs for children, youth and families, the Calgary Police Foundation provides funding for six initial marquee programs.

Founded in 1999, the FGM is modeled after the 700-odd community foundations that already exist in Canada and the United States. Their versatility, flexibility, and effectiveness allow these foundations to satisfy both the wishes of donors and the needs of the charitable organizations they benefit. The FGM differs from other charitable organizations in that it builds endowment funds, the revenues from which are used to support charitable work in a number of areas, primarily health, education, social development, arts and culture, and the environment. Donations to the FGM thus serve the Greater Montreal community in perpetuity.

The Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation became a reality on May 17, 1983. The first Board of Governors consisted of three prominent Occupational Therapists: Karen Goldenberg, President; Dr. Thelma Cardwell, Vice President and Dr. Isobel Robinson, Secretary / Treasurer. The purpose of COTF has always been to support research and scholarship in the field of occupational therapy. The Foundation’s focus has been on generating, receiving and maintaining funds and developing mechanisms for granting awards to individuals and organizations for research and scholarships. From 1983 to 1995, COTF and CAOT shared office space in Toronto. When CAOT relocated to Ottawa in 1995, COTF remained in Toronto. A decision was made in 2002 for the Foundation to once again share office space with CAOT in order to foster a synergistic relationship which would benefit the entire occupational therapy community. Since 2004, COTF and CAOT share office space in Ottawa.

The Essex Region Conservation Foundation (ERCF) was established in 1977 with a vital goal to receive and maintain funds for charitable, educational, conservation, and heritage purposes related to the conservation, restoration, development, and management of natural and heritage resources in the Essex region.
