California Center For The Arts Escondido

The mission of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is to bring people together to discover, create and celebrate the arts. The Center's Performing Arts Series presents music, dance, and theatre performances of high artistic merit that appeal to a diverse population. The 9,000 sq. ft. Museum presents exhibitions that feature established and emerging American regional and international artists that intersect cultures and increase access. Uniquely designed standards-based arts education programs bring the arts to over 14,000 school children annually, with a special focus on reaching the underserved.

URBAN-15 pursues a philosophy of inclusion that crosses lines of gender, class, race, and religion. Breaking prejudicial barriers of size, age, and norms of physical beauty, we have transformed the way our community celebrates and revolutionized Community Access to music and dance.

Shakespeare On The Sound

Shakespeare on the Sound is committed to producing affordable, professional open-air productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and related authors in Fairfield County. Working in collaboration with area civic, business and educational institutions, Shakespeare on the Sound presents an annual theatre festival, which brings great dramatic works to a broad audience, creating a forum for learning, appreciation and celebration. Our Educational programming goal is to build community through the arts, giving the works of Shakespeare a vibrant life beyond the summer festival with a variety of school, library, adult education, and art programs as a means to reach a diverse cross-section of people of all ages and economic backgrounds.

What Is Noise

What Is Noise is an award-winning ensemble that has performed throughout the United States. The ensemble made its Carnegie Hall debut in May of 2014 as part of their “American Stories” concert tour that included performances in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and New York. What Is Noise is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is passionate about building community through music by performing culturally relevant concerts that connect audiences with musicians and composers of their time. The sextet remains a strong advocate for new music and educational outreach.

National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS)

NEADS initiates the development and expansion of a communications network for students with disabilities and those persons professionally involved in support programs for disabled students at colleges and universities across Canada; Have the capability to make timely and meaningful responses to the issues and concerns affecting the educational resources and environment of students with disabilities; Facilitate the collection and dissemination of information on post-secondary education and the disabled student; Encourage the formation of associations of students with disabilities on the campuses so that consumers can advocate for themselves. NEADS is governed by a 12 member Board of Directors. This Board is cross-disability and represents the geographical regions of the country. In order to maintain consumer control disabled students members have exclusive voting privileges.

Arizona Bach Festival

Founded to promote culture and the arts in Arizona and to [reserve the music of J. S. Bach, with educational outreach to music students in secondary education. The Arizona Bach Festival has grown out of the seven-year series of Bach Cantata Concerts presented under the name American Bach. Now launched as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the first Festival in 2010 was a resounding success and has positioned the Festival to be a driving force in the musical offerings of the Valley. The mission of the Festival is to: Inspire, educate, preserve, and elevate the appreciation of Bach as a transcendent force, through the highest caliber of performances.

Opera Lafayette is an American period instrument ensemble focused on the French 18th-century opera repertoire and its precursors, influences, and artistic legacy. Opera Lafayette inspires a love of this repertoire by presenting rediscovered masterpieces and creating a recorded legacy of its work. Opera Lafayette performs at the highest level of artistic excellence in major theaters in Washington, New York, and international venues. Opera Lafayette educates and creates new audiences for its repertoire by making opera accessible to the general public, families, young people, and underserved audiences through its educational and outreach programs and performances in low-cost alternative venues.

WP Puppet Theatre

Puppets-on-the-Go is a crate rental program with age appropriate activities tied to art, social studies, language arts and even math curriculum. The process is made easy as educators are supplied with clear instructions, materials and samples for their student’s creative process. The art-based activities initiate cooperation and discussion for the many learning styles in their classrooms. And the end result is a performance to be proud of. “My students responded really positively and were motivated to create their own show.” The production “Pigs in a Canoe and other Watery Stories” features stories about water, from the mysteries of the deep-sea tube-worms to the transportation of pigs on the Red River in 1817. Fun and thought provoking for all ages, touring communities all year long. WP Puppet Theatre also facilitates Puppet Power, the biennial international conference that brings together artists, educators and therapists to look at the power of puppetry beyond performance.

KIDS SAFETY VILLAGE OF DURHAM REGION

The Kids Safety Village of Durham Region is a kid-sized version of a real town located on the grounds of the Sir William Stephenson Public School in Whitby. Set on 1.2 acres, the village features small buildings, detailed roadways, traffic lights and road signs, an operational railway crossing, battery cars, bicycles and a classroom. Here, children learn about road safety as a pedestrian and a cyclist in a controlled, supervised environment. Since 1995, the realistic setting has allowed thousands of children in Durham to test their safety skills in a fun, learning environment. The Kids' Safety Village is truly a community project dedicated to building a safer future for children. The village was constructed with donations of cash, services and materials from local businesses, citizens and service clubs.

THE FURTHER EDUCATION SOCIETY

FESA focuses on learners with the lowest levels of literacy and education. We partner with over 35 social agencies and organizations that host our programs and invite clients to our free educational sessions. We are able to target vulnerable learners facing challenges that include poverty, family violence, low-literacy, single-parenting, lack of English skills, lack of support systems, unemployment, learning disabilities, and addictions. We specialize in building confidence and overcoming barriers that prevent people from moving forward with their education. Our programs: -are adapted to reflect cross-cultural approaches and are culturally sensitive, -build parents’ literacy and learning, -help parents gain strategies to build their children’s reading and writing skills, -prepare children for school.

Young Patronesses Of The Opera

The Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO) was formed in 1956 and incorporated in 1984. Our mission is "to cultivate, promote, foster, sponsor, and develop the understanding, taste, and love of opera and to promote the education of opera in our community." YPO is comprised entirely of volunteers who donate their time and talents. Our Board of Directors and two-hundred plus members reflect the multiculturalism of Miami-Dade County. Members represent Caucasian, Hispanic, African-American, and Caribbean ethnic groups united by our love of opera and desire to promote opera education. YPO members want to ensure that young people and adults alike in our community have the opportunity to understand and enjoy opera.
