Food For The Poor

Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of hungry children and families living in poverty primarily in 15 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, water, medicine, educational materials, homes, support for vulnerable children, care for the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance.

Inn from the Cold is a place where homeless families turn for hope and help. Established by a network of faith-based volunteers in 1997, Inn from the Cold is Calgary’s original and largest emergency family shelter, offering programs and supports to homeless families. Inn from the Cold provides emergency shelter services in partnership with volunteers from local churches, community groups and organizations, as well as onsite programming, family support services and prevention initiatives. Our priority is to help families find safe, affordable and appropriate housing. Inn from the Cold is a recommended charity by Charity Intelligence for our stewardship of the community’s financial donations and resources.
