PRISONERS WITH HIV/AIDS SUPPORT ACTION NETWORK

PASAN formed in 1991 as a grassroots response to the AIDS crisis in the Canadian prison system. Today, we are the only organization in Canada exclusively providing HIV/AIDS education, support and advocacy to prisoners, ex-prisoners, young offenders and their families.

Women In Need Society (WINS) is a charitable organization in Calgary. Established in 1992, WINS’ mission is to help women help themselves through innovative and effective programs and services. WINS works with women in low-income situations. This includes: - women coming out of shelters - single mothers and their children - women in transition - new Canadians WINS goal is that women have the resources, knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve self-sufficiency. At WINS we understand that to develop human potential to its fullest we must do more than simply provide for the basic human needs of food, clothing, and shelter. Our approach is to work step by step to help women help themselves.

Association Of Albanian Girls And Women (Aagw)

Our mission is to empower survivors of sex trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual violence in Albania as they heal from trauma, transition out of shelter care, and rebuild their lives. We provide counseling, life skills education, childcare, and job training and placement — the core services survivors identify as most essential for long-term stability and independence.

PEACE AREA RIDING FOR THE DISABLED SOCIETY

Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) operates a premier therapeutic riding facility located on the outskirts of Grande Prairie. We offer horseback riding opportunities to physically and mentally challenged individuals of all ages. Our programs offer clients the opportunity to increase social interaction, improve self-esteem and build confidence. In addition there are physical benefits such as improved balance, posture, flexibility, sensory awareness and endurance. Riding is a pathway to discover a whole new world of adventure, freedom and excitement. Most amazingly, riding provides an overwhelming sense of accomplishiment for everyone involved including riders, volunteers, parents and instructors.

THE SPEC ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

SPEC has served children and families in the Brooks area since September 1978. Today, SPEC’s dedicated staff and volunteers continue to encourage growth and learning for all levels of the family unit, from newborns to adults. The difference staff and volunteers make is evident in the smiles on the faces of those served and the stories of those who return to provide updates on their successes and to extend their heartfelt thanks. SPEC programs celebrate multiculturalism and diversity, and are continuously growing to reach all children and their families.
