Global Surgical Expedition is a medical mission charity that helps send surgeons to underserved countries to deliver life-changing surgery to those in need. We send doctors and medical volunteers to underserved populations to deliver life-changing surgeries. One surgery at a time, we strive to help each of our patients regain the life that all of us deserve. We also provide student scholarships and training to participate in international experiences, thereby seeking to foster the next generation of global surgery leaders. We also perform research to help better understand the impact of surgical illness and create better approaches to providing surgeries internationally.
The Ontario Tallgrass Prairie and Savanna Association - Tallgrass Ontario (TGO)- was established in 1999 to coordinate work by groups that wished to undertake conservation programs that would implement the Recovery Plan for Grassland Communities of Southern Ontario. The Recovery plan lists literally hundreds of tallgrass and savanna species, many of which are identified as threatened, endangered or extirpated. The landscape of Southern Ontario presents some unique conservation challenges: - less than 2% of the landscape is in public ownership - 25% of Canada's population lives and works on .25% of the nations land area - this region is home to more species at risk than any other region of the country
By donating to the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, you are supporting projects that help B.C.'s fish and wildlife population and habitats. Each year, the Foundation provides funding for over a hundred conservation projects, including habitat enhancement and restoration,land acquisitions and environmental education programs. You can choose to direct your donation to one of these program areas, or choose to support the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC's "Help Kids Go Fish BC" program, designed to create first fishing experiences for B.C. children and their families, expand stocking programs, and increase access to angling in urban and rural areas of B.C.
For six years the Aaqitauvik Healing Centre (AHC) has provided quality workshops and training to the Inuit population of Nunavik. AHC is the only comprehensive service of its kind in the region in relation to healing from past and present traumatic experiences for Inuit from across Northern Quebec and the rest of Canada. The Centre is mandated to assist Inuit who have experienced different forms of trauma and to improve the quality of life of the Inuit by providing access to services and appropriate programs where healing can occur. Through its' programs, activities and services the AHC aims to uplift the quality of life of the Inuit of Nunavik, as well as those in other provinces and territories.
The Toronto People With AIDS Foundation serves all men, women and children living with HIV or AIDS in Toronto, the largest HIV/AIDS population in Canada. We provide direct and practical services that help people living with HIV or AIDS meet their basic needs. Since our founding in 1987, we have grown to become Canada's largest direct service provider for people living with HIV/AIDS. Our services include a weekly food bank, a weekly meal delivery program, financial assistance for uninsured medical costs, HIV treatment information and short-term access to HIV medication, among many others.
The C.A.R.E. Housing Society is a non-profit organization that raises funds to purchase or build and maintain homes specifically for people with disabilities. We are governed by a board of directors who are dedicated to support this at risk population to have a stable home for their lifetime. C.A.R.E. Housing Society currently operates three sustainable homes in Edmonton. C.A.R.E. continues to rely on fundraising and donations. We are committed towards growth to help people with disabilities with sustainable and affordable housing. Over 660,000 apply for services in Ezer Mizion-Israel each year. Ezer Mizion's International Jewish Bone Marrow Registry is the largest Jewish and the 6th largest registry in the world. It has saved over 2800 lives around the globe, 307 in 2017 alone.

Patient AirLift Services (PALS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable aviation organization. Our mission is to connect the charitable aviation community to people in need. We arrange free air transportation for individuals requiring medical diagnosis, treatment or follow-up, for compassionate assistance, for military personnel/family requests through the PALS for Patriots Program, or for humanitarian purposes through the PALS Sky Hope Disaster Relief Program.
NS Trails is a non-profit, charitable organization that supports the development, maintenance, and management of community-based recreational trails in Nova Scotia. We support the hundreds of volunteers who make recreational trails a reality in communities across the province. NS Trails is also the recognized agent for the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) in Nova Scotia. Our goal is to connect the TCT in our province by 2017 in time for Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation.
