Our mission is to help low-income families and communities in rural northeastern Venezuela to develop their potential and break out of the cycle of poverty characteristic of the area. We empower women and their children through our Recipe for a Thriving Community, integrating public health, public education and family planning programs with agricultural and environmental projects to help rural communities become productive and sustainable. We also offer targeted humanitarian aid in the current Venezuelan crisis. We believe that community-based experiments like our own can offer effective solutions and models in the less developed world. We think globally and act locally to contribute to the current United Nations Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals to Transform Our World.

STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE: Education - to raise and distribute resources in support of post-primary female education in underserved areas of Pakistan

The Mission of the organization is threefold: first, to provide accessible health care for the poor of Northern Haiti regardless of their religion, economic status, or disease state; second, to train and nurture a competent Haitian medical staff, supplemented and supported by volunteer specialists; third, at all times and in all endeavors, to practice compassion and respect for the inherent dignity of every individual.

Supports publication initiatives and educational exchange opportunities to promote and expand the level of medical science among the professional Ukrainian community. Provides needed humanitarian medical help in times of crisis.

Pathstone Mental Health is the only accredited provider of children’s mental health treatment in Niagara. We offer a broad spectrum of treatment services and programs, delivered by highly qualified staff to strengthen children and families. We serve all children and youth from birth through to their 18th birthday.

Marianhill has been a well-reputed part of the community since 1954 and has continually worked to provide new and innovative services to the elderly residents of Renfrew County. We have been an accredited Health Facility since 1989 and we continue to strive to meet the standards of excellence. Several of our services are only offered at our facility including Palliative Care and our Day Program for seniors and developmentally challenged individuals.

Participation House Support Services - London and Area is a non-profit, community-based organization providing assistance to people with significant physical and/or developmental disabilities to reach their full potential in the community. It is committed to encouraging and creating an inclusive community where individuals with disabilities have access to all the community has to offer and are included in a valued and meaningful way.

After a skiing accident left him quadriplegic in 1979, Sam Sullivan decided to reach out to other people with disabilities to help them take more responsibility for their lives. Sam believed barriers preventing or limiting full participation in society by people with disabilities could be surmounted through action and effort on the part of the individual, with the support of their able-bodied counterparts. Sam's willpower and entrepreneurship brought into reality several of the objectives he originally set out to achieve. With determination, energy, ingenuity and sheer effort, he launched six non-profit societies, all representing the ideal of promoting full citizenship in the community. The activities and programs these societies offer help improve the lives of people with disabilities not only in Vancouver and B.C. but also across North America and around the world.

Reena is a not for profit organization that is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Our clients are some of the communities’ most vulnerable members. Reena provides support through residential services such as group homes and apartments, day programs to teach important life skills to people with developmental disabilities and vital respite services to families that are trying to cope with caring for a loved one at home. These individuals are far too easily neglected as someone else’s problem.

RESPECT for the capacity of each of us to embrace the challenge of human existence. We encourage those we serve to take responsibility for their own lives; we try to empower by assisting them to make informed choices for themselves. 3. A FIRM CONVICTION that out of poverty comes creativity, new life and growth. We reach out, recognizing that the poor are not in need of 'fixing', 'saving' or 'rescuing'. Growth comes from journeying with those we serve, not in doing for them. 4. The importance of EDUCATION as the key to change. Education takes many forms. Those who are malnourished most of their lives often have special needs; secondary school, university, apprenticeships, as well as special education for severe learning disabilities such as deafness and blindness are all strategies we pursue.
