We strive towards providing health care, education and employment opportunities for all our village communities, thereby restoring a balance of opportunity and quality of life. An imbalance exists between cities and villages in India. The best health care and medical facilities are available in the cities. However, 75 percent of India's population lives in villages. Unemployment, poverty and lack of adequate facilities for health and education drive ambitious young people to the cities in search of jobs and a better standard of living. This migration drains the energy of the villages while simultaneously putting additional strain on the resources of the cities.
Tia's mission is to bring access to lifesaving healthcare and preventative education in the poorest remote places where there are no doctors or medicine through Tia's self-sustaining, teach them to fish program.
We collect funds in order to help people suffering from gambling, drug or alcohol addiction and who are receiving services offered at the Montreal's addiction rehabilitation Center – University Institute.
Sherbrooke is like any small village in Saskatchewan where everyday life goes on around us. We are home to 270 residents, 100 Community Day Program participants, 500 volunteers, families, friends, students, and over 500 staff. Ours is a community of people with normal aspirations, dreams and a desire to live life to the fullest. At Sherbrooke, residents work, play, worship, paint, garden, volunteer. Casey House is a specialty hospital with community programming including home care and outreach programs. Founded in 1988, we were the first freestanding HIV/AIDS hospice in Canada. We rely on donor funding to provide our community programs, which include the Home Hospice Program, nursing, counselling, complementary therapies including massage, recreation therapy, child care for HIV-positive parents and the Resident Care and Comfort Fund.
