Waves of Recovery is a not for profit organization built to provide individuals with mental health and addiction struggles with an opportunity to repair, restore, and find hope through ocean-based activities and experiences. We are a team of highly trained professionals in mental and behavioral healthcare and surfing instruction whose passion lies in supporting and encouraging people to find healing, connection, and community through the ocean and the outdoors. Founded in 1939, House of Friendship is a social service charity that envisions a healthy community where all can belong and thrive. Our mandate is to serve people living on low income in Waterloo Region, through four program areas that focus on: Supporting Healthy Lives (Addiction Services); Assisting and Feeding Those in Need (Community Services); Building Strong Families and Strong Communities (Family Services); and Providing Shelter and Supportive Housing (Residential Services).

While the Y's mission of service and commitment to community health has not changed over the years, our capacity to offer programs and services to meet the growing needs of our community is limited. Lacking the space to offer vital wellness, youth and family programs, the Kelowna Family Y has maximized its potential with its current facilities. Today, we believe that a major expansion to the existing Kelowna Family Y will make a significant impact on the health and development of this generation and those to come.
