Neighbors For Refugees is a grassroots humanitarian group located in Westchester County, NY. Our mission is to welcome, protect and advocate for refugees in our community and abroad.

Lifesong seeks to mobilize the Church to care for the orphan, where each member can provide a unique and special service: some to adopt, some to care, some to give. With caring people like you and church partnerships, we support children through global orphan care ministries, Christian adoptive families, and foster care initiatives.

To address the issues of poverty and inequity, through education, strong civic participation and, collective work and responsibility.

Care for Children is a global children’s charity with a vision and mission to see children across the world moved out of orphanages and into local families. We provide specialised training and support to orphanages, enabling them to set-up and run their own foster care programmes, as a safe and positive alternative to institutional care. This means that local authorities can start moving children out of orphanages and into local, loving families, where each child can be nurtured to reach their potential.

Books for Development addresses the book famine that prevents children and adults in many developing countries from learning to read. We do this by building library collections since we believe that the best contribution you can make to people’s development is to promote their literacy. As a non-profit, we take donated books, use volunteers to sort them and then ship them to poor countries to create libraries. We leverage our efforts--using free labor and donated books that might otherwise be dumped in a land fill. Books for Development was formerly known as Good Steward Global Initiative.

Silvera for Seniors is one of the largest providers of affordable housing options in Calgary for lower-income seniors, dating back over 50 years. We understand that housing for seniors is no longer simply about providing "room and board" and the lines between Independent and Supportive living options have blurred. Silvera is preparing for the future, focusing on creating vibrant communities where seniors will enjoy a high quality of life, along with dignity and choice. With your support we will be able to provide a place our residents can call home and receive the support services they need to age in place. And with your help we can make this happen.

We are the Central Alberta Refugee Effort, part of Red Deer’s Immigrant Centre. For over 30 years we have been here to help new immigrants and refugees adjust to their new life in Central Alberta and become valued members of our welcoming community. We offer the following services: - Settlement Support in Schools and Library - ESL (English as Second Language) Classes - Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA) Testing - Connecting Newcomers Program - Translation & Interpretation Services - Immigrant Family, Senior and Youth Support Programs - Volunteer Support Programs - Cross Cultural Communication and Cultural Awareness Training

Skills for Change is a charitable organization dedicated to employment success for immigrants and refugees. A focus on professional communications, workplace culture, skills upgrading and bridging, mentoring and language classes directly responds to the needs of hiring managers from Canada’s leading employers. With a successful background in social innovation, Cheryl May, Executive Director, saw an emerging trend in government interest for increased innovation and collaboration from nonprofits to be responsive to market shifts and less dependent on public funding. Skills for Change launched an innovation program in January 2012 to test and push out new sustainable solutions in support and services. With an emphasis on strategic analysis, the approach weighs demographic and employer needs, adapting to the changing demands of the immigration landscape.

35-bed emergency shelter for homeless and at-risk Youth, ages 16-24. Programs include: Individual Youth Support Services- each resident is linked with a Case Manager who provides crisis intervention and one-on-one training and support to prepare the youth to get off the streets and out of the shelter system permanently; Day Program/Drop-In - prepares the youth for independent living and to help make them feel more positive about themselves. Some Day Programs include Budgeting, Employment searching, Housing workshops, Recreational activities and Motivational speeches by speakers from the Community; Housing Program- assists the youth in finding and keeping affordable housing; The Outreach & Aftercare Program- supports the youth once they have secured housing. Outreach workers visit clients at their homes, and offer guidance and aid as and when needed. Outreach clients have access to food packages and free laundry facilities.

Choices for Youth is a nonprofit, charitable, community-based agency that provides housing and lifestyle development supports to youth in the St. John’s metro area. Through our seven core programs, Choices provides strong, stable, and diversified support systems to help at-risk youth overcome major challenges in their lives. Because every young person’s story is unique, we give them the personal support they need to be successful and enhance their lives through informed and empowered choices. Choices for Youth continues to develop innovative and meaningful programs to meet the diverse needs of each of the hundreds of youth clients we have served annually since 1990.

Canada's only NEW clothing bank and basics-needs items, Windfall receives donations of exclusively NEW clothing, school backpacks, personal care items and small household goods and distributes these to 100 social service agencies working with the Greater Toronto Area's most vulnerable and marginalized citizens. Windfall also hosts job-training programs for teams of intellectually challenged adults from Community Living Toronto and clients on social assistance.
