Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee)

Alight exists to walk alongside those who – by sheer circumstance – find themselves on the long and arduous journey of displacement. Each year Alight serves 3.5 million people in over 20 countries who have been displaced by climate, conflict, and social and economic exclusion. We listen closely to their voices, gathering insights that allow us to provide innovative human-centered services and programs. By co-creating alongside displaced people we can ensure that we are meeting their needs and moving beyond necessities to build lives that are full of joy, connection, and purpose.

3CM (CROSS CULTURAL CHRISTIAN MISSIONS SOCIETY)

3CM is a Canadian nonprofit registered charitable organization set up to assist those in need locally as well as in developing countries. It was started in 1997 by three families that wanted others to experience a thrill they discovered. Where many good and reputable societies request your funds so that they may assist people in foreign settings, we at 3CM welcome you to join with us to experience first hand what your abilities can accomplish in the areas of housing, medical, and every day practical things that we take for granted. If you absolutely cannot come, we will regretfully accept your money instead... 3CM is based on Christian principles as it says in Isaiah 58 and Matthew 25 to "divide your bread with the hungry ...bring the homeless poor into your house". We at 3CM want to do everything possible to facilitate your hand reaching theirs. We help them -- they teach us. Since 2007 our focus has been on a leadership development program called Project Moses in Honduras.

Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico, Inc.

The purpose of the Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico is to enhance the ability of philanthropy and nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of vulnerable populations. Summary Hurricanes Irma and Maria have caused widespread damage in Puerto Rico. This fund will provide recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild. All donations to this fund will exclusively support recovery efforts from these storms. Challenge Record-breaking wind and rain have destroyed homes, and left millions without electricity or water. The most affected populations are the poor communities. Nonprofit organizations have stepped in to address needs that government alone cannot. Local nonprofit partners are have asked us to help fund their recovery efforts on the ground. Solution All donations to this fund will support recovery efforts for Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Initially, the fund will help nonprofit organizations meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in the Puerto Rican archipielago (includes the islands of Culebra and Vieques, as well as Puerto Rico). Long-Term Impact We believe that organizations that are deeply-rooted in local communities are in the best position to provide long-term support for survivors of natural disasters like Hurricanes Irma and Maria. By funding the relief efforts of local organizations, donations to this fund have the potential to build stronger response capacity so that these organizations are better equipped to face future challenges.
