CAANS is the local charity responsible for HIV prevention and support in Central Alberta.

Lunch Break freely provides life's basic necessities - food, clothing and fellowship for our community members in need. Our mission is to alleviate hunger and lead those we serve to self-sufficiency and healthier lifestyles. We serve everyone, with compassion and dignity.

The Rideau Trail crosses terrain ranging from placid farmland to the rugged Canadian shield. It is only intended for walking (hiking), snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. No part of the Rideau Trail itself is owned by the Rideau Trail Association; the continuity of the trail is made possible by the generous permission of both private and public landowners. Three hiking clubs of the RTA - Kingston, Central (Perth), and Ottawa - organize outings in all seasons of the year. Hikes usually take place on the weekend and comprise an activity appropriate for the season, such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and hiking in the spring, summer, and fall. Other activities are scheduled during the week or on some holidays. The late Lt. Colonel Sayyid Mohammed Amiruddin (Aug 13,1917-Sept 17,2012), was a pioneer Canadian Muslim missionary from the family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him & his family) on whose hand more then 3600 North Americans embraced Islam. The authors of Fatawa i-Rahimiyya wrote, “The famed preacher from Hyderabad (Deccan), Colonel Amiruddin, at whose hands nearly three thousand Americans have accepted Islam…” (“Note to Revised Edition”, Fatawa-e-Rahimiyah Vol.1, Lajpuri, 1975).

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

The goal of the Armenian Assembly of America is to promote public awareness of Armenian issues, encourage Armenian-American participation in the American democratic process, and assist in humanitarian and development programs in Armenian and Artsakh, while strengthening the U.S.-Armenia and U.S.-Artsakh relationships. The goal of the Armenia Tree Project is to assist the Armenian people in using trees to improve their standard of living and protect the global environment. In so doing, we are guided by the need to promote self-sufficiency, aid those with the fewest resources first, and conserve the indigenous ecosystem.

FFDF helps American individuals, foundations, and corporations donate to designated projects in social services, health and medical research, culture, sciences and the environment at the Fondation de France (FDF), France's leading private charitable institution.

CISV Ottawa provides a range of unique, educational group activities which develop cross-cultural understanding in children, youth, and adults from around the world. By encouraging respect for cultural difference and the development of self-awareness, CISV empowers each participant to incorporate these values into their lives as they become global citizens and strive for a more peaceful world. CISV Ottawa provides a range of unique, educational group activities including international camps and exchanges as well as local and national community engagement and education projects. These activities develop cross-cultural understanding and leadership skills in children and youth -- from around the world to around the block.
