BRIGHT HOPE FOR TOMORROW

BRIGHT HOPE FOR TOMORROW MISSION is a Christian relief and development ministry committed to helping the Absolute Poor; those who earn less than a dollar per day. We do this by focusing on three strategies: 1. Working through local churches, pastors and missionaries in poverty-stricken areas, we provide the physical, spiritual and economic resources necessary to help conquer poverty and transform lives. 2. Through financial grants, material distribution, practical training and counselling, we help people develop and market products that will enable them to break the cycle of poverty by earning a living wage, thus providing sustainable income and financial stability to the poor. 3. Food, medicine, clothing and other basic supplies are provided to people in crisis to meet immediate and life-threatening needs. Programs are delivered in cooperation with our partners, BRIGHT HOPE INTERNATIONAL and BRIGHT HOPE WORLD, who maintain comprehensive project descriptions on their websites.

OTTAWA NETWORK FOR EDUCATION

ONFE is a hub for education, business and community partners committed to helping Ottawa students reach their full potential. Our programs have two main areas of focus: Student Support: For some K-12 students, wanting to learn is not enough. Coming to school on an empty stomach, learning disabilities, and substance abuse issues are examples of challenges that some students must face. Together we have introduced programs that help to address these and other barriers to learning. ONFE serves more than 50,000 students each year. Career Preparation: Through partnerships with the local business community, ONFE offers K-12 students “real world” learning opportunities. With the support of business mentors, students explore entrepreneurship as a career option, learn financial literacy, basic business skills and also connect schools with local experts who introduce students to the latest in technology, offering hands-on learning and career exploration opportunities.
