MAKING PLAY POSSIBLE through CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH OF LEEDS & GRENVILLE

CMHLG children and youth overcome their difficulties while supporting parents to strengthen families. We provide free counselling and parenting support for children, youth and families. Donations through CanadaHelps are directed to our Making Play Possible program. Making Play Possible is overseen by a committee of community members and partner agencies passionate about increasing access to recreation for children and youth in Leeds-Grenville. The program has operated through Children's Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville since 2004. Making Play Possible funds recreation for children and youth through the generous support of indivduals like you. Your investment can change the course of a child's life. Making Play Possible gives all children and youth in Leeds-Grenville the chance to participate in recreation - regardless of the barriers they may face. By helping families access recreation, we are raising kids who will grow up physically and mentally strong.

Village Health Works

Village Health Works delivers quality, compassionate health care in rural Burundi while addressing the root causes of poverty and disease. Our mission is grounded in dignity and driven by the belief that lasting health comes from more than medicine. Education is central to this vision. We support a thriving primary school and operate Kigutu International Academy, a world-class boarding secondary school that prepares talented young people to lead change in Burundi and beyond. Alongside health and education, we strengthen food security, create livelihoods, and support the arts. These investments build healthier communities and nurture peace in a country still recovering from civil war. With over 90 percent of our staff from Burundi, Village Health Works is powered by local leadership. Our doctors, teachers, and community partners are caring for patients today while training the next generation to build a stronger future. Village Health Works is not only a health and education system, it is a movement of resilience and hope that shows what is possible when compassion and community come together.

Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society

For almost three decades, North Shore Schizophrenia Society has been helping family members cope with mental illness in a loved one and, through this vital support, has helped their mentally ill relatives in turn. It's support, too, of a unique, and uniquely valuable, kind. Our organization, as we explain on our website, "consists of family members and friends of the mentally ill who have been through it, know what others are going through and can share their experiences." Families helping families. Operating through our Family Support Centre, open five days a week (with crisis contact after hours), and with the assistance of staff, we provide support, counselling, information, education, advocacy and outreach services. The Centre helps families dealing with all serious mental illnesses: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety disorders. We fight stigma and advocate for families and patients. It's front-line work - and work that makes a difference.

SHERBOURNE HEALTH

Sherbourne Health Centre offers innovative and specialized programs for LGBT youth and adults, for newcomers and for homeless and under-housed people. Key programs include the SOY (Supporting Our Youth) program for queer and trans youth (including various groups and drop-ins, as well as mentoring, and employment and housing support), the LGBTQ Parenting Network, and, province-wide, Rainbow Health Ontario. The Rotary Club of Toronto Health Buses and an Infirmary for acute convalescent care offer key support for homeless, unsafely housed and street-involved people within the local community. And individual counselling and group support are offered to newcomers. We are recognized for our respectful and non-judgemental approach, our expert staff and the very real impact we make on the lives of some of Toronto's most marginalized community members. Primary healthcare services are supported by the Ministry of Health, but we rely on voluntary donations to run our vital community progams.
