Spirit Dance Centre operates on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. We offer ceremonies, teachings and workshops which provide information and instruction in several traditional and indigenous spiritual traditions and philosophies. We host ceremonial gatherings and multi-faith services that bring together teachers, practitioners and ceremonial leaders from different spiritual traditions. We have twice held an event called Medicine Ways: World Healing Ceremonies with Tibetan and First Nation Healers. Our programs are low cost or free, designed particularly for people who cannot normally afford to attend expensive courses, retreats and workshops. Beginning in 2012, we are helping exiled and stateless Tibetan families to resettle on the Sunshine Coast and begin a new life in Canada.

Nations Cry is a humanitarian organization focused on improving education in the developing world. Building schools, improving curriculum and training teachers are just a few of the ways that Nations Cry is helping to build a better future for children in West Africa and Central America. Nations Cry uses extreme financial discretion, spending money only when required and where it is most effective. Our Financial Promise is that 100% of the donations received are used exclusively for humanitarian projects. Our goal is to create a legacy for future generations by empowering those in need through long-term, sustainable solutions. Our goal is to leave a legacy for future generations by growing the endowment fund, becoming more effective, and reaching more people every year.

Our Centre serves Inuit children and youth from birth to 13 years of age and their families in the southern urban setting of the City of Ottawa. In partnership with parents and the community, the OICC fosters strong Inuit children, youth and families by providing a learning environment that will enhance children's overall well-being, adaptability and strength in a proud Inuit cultural environment. Our Programs We believe that children deserve a nurturing and caring child centred environment that supports the Inuit culture and language. We believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. Our program supports the whole family as children are celebrated for the unique and special people that they are. We work in partnership with families to ensure that children receive the best care and early education possible.

Educate the Children (EtC) is a non profit, charitable organization founded in 2004 by a local teacher in London, ON, Canada. The Board of EtC consists of a group of Canadian professionals who believe that Education is a fundamental right of all children and a responsibility that must be shared by all. We are strongly committed and dedicated to raising the funds needed to complete our projects. All of our members are volunteers, this helps us to keep our administrative cost to 1%. This means that 99% of every donation goes towards completing our projects in rural Nigeria.

Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 with over ten chapters across Canada. The goals are to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families; and to educate and increase the understanding of Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Donor funded projects are implemented and managed in partnership with Afghan non-profit organizations. These projects include a number of community schools, village libraries, an orphanage, as well as teacher training, literacy, English and computer classes. The projects are funded mainly from individual donations from Canadians. Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan members were honoured with the YMCA Calgary Peace Award in the International category for their long-standing contribution to supporting peace and human rights for Afghan women and their families.

In 2000, Adrianne Dartnall and her partner Rick Lennert lost their only child, twenty one year old Danielle, when she was killed by a drunk driver. Devastated by the tragedy they sought to find meaning in their lives and to honour the memory of their daughter, who had wanted to be a teacher and loved children. Since that time Adrianne and Rick have been traveling each year to impoverished villages and communities in developing countries. They volunteer their time and talents working to improve the lives of children and their families living in poverty. In 2004, in response to the interest of more and more people who wanted to donate and be a part of the work they were doing, Adrianne and Rick formed a non-profit organization called Kids International Development Society (K.I.D.S.).

Be the Change Earth Alliance is a Canadian charitable organization that brings sustainability education programs to schools and communities to create environmental and social change. Our programs empower people of all ages to connect, understand and actively respond to the sustainability challenges facing our planet. Your donations will be supporting STUDENT LEADERSHIP IN SUSTAINABILITY, an innovative program that provides teachers and students with a groundbreaking educational curriculum for environmental sustainability, global citizenship, and youth empowerment. The 4,000 students currently using SLS are creating local solutions to global sustainability issues and your donations will help us bring SLS to more schools! A donation of $5 dollars will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a student. A donation of $100 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to a whole classroom. A donation of $250 will bring Student Leadership in Sustainability to an entire grade.

We offer a number of programs and services that individuals and families can draw from to better understand and deal with LDs: - Parent Support/Education Nights (October-June) – a monthly forum to share experiences, concerns and solutions - Lending library and resource materials at the Roy Cooper Memorial Resource Centre - Workshops for parents, teachers, workplaces and community groups on a variety of topics related to LDs/ADHD - One-on-one consulting sessions with children, their families and adults with LDs, including advocacy coaching and referrals - Advocacy coaching, particularly related to navigating the education and workplace systems - Sunshine Day Social Skills Summer Camp – summer programs providing children with LDs a positive, supportive environment in which to learn social skills, build problem-solving skills and increase confidence and self-esteem - Advice and samples of assistive technologies

MARL holds a variety of innovative set of educational activities public events, including an annual Human Rights Film Festival and public lectures. MARL works in schools helping develop teachers’ skills to help support curriculum and run the 'Leadership in Social Justice Program'. This unique approach inspires youth about social justice issues and empowers them to take action by building the skills to run programs focusing on issues in their communities. MARL works to change policies to uphold rights through legislative review by preparing briefs and studies at all levels of government. MARL also provides referral and legal information in response to inquiries from individuals. For young people interested in learning about their rights, MARL has developed the Under 18 Handbook, a Legal Guide for Manitoba Teens. This free handbook is available in hardcopy and on our website.

The Rainbow Society has been making dreams come true for Alberta children living with chronic or life-threatening illness since 1986. We were the first group of its kind in Canada. We differ from other wish granting organizations in that our mandate allows us to grant wishes to children who are living with chronic illness, as well as those with life-threatening illness. Wishes: · Must be in the best interest of the child. This is determined through consultation with the family and the child’s physician. · Include the immediate family, whenever possible. · Are granted quietly and without publicity. · Are not solicited. We work strictly on a referral basis. · Wish referrals can be made by the families themselves, a friend, relative, teacher or by someone from within the medical community. · Wish referrals cannot be made anonymously since we will not proceed without the prior knowledge and approval of the family involved.

Since 1989, Kids Help Phone has been Canada’s only national phone and online counselling service for youth. It is free, anonymous and confidential. Professional counsellors are available any time of the day or night, 365 days a year, to help young people deal with concerns large or small. As a community-based charity who receives no core government funding, Kids Help Phone relies strictly on individual and corporate donations to fund these vital services. Children and teens contact Kids Help Phone about every issue imaginable – from school, dating and family problems, to depression, abuse and suicide. For many children in rural areas, Kids Help Phone is the only way they can access professional counsellors in an atmosphere of safety and confidentiality. Many of the kids who contact us cannot or will not approach parents or teachers in their community for fear of reprisals and embarrassment.

CARIBBEAN GLOBAL MISSIONS/BELKA ENRICHMENT CENTER is committed to providing- various quality programs for Children, Youth and Adults with our well equipped volunteers and resources needed to help them work with the children and youth in the community to reach their full potential. We promote the concepts of life long innovative learning and dedicated to offering opportunities for both our Volunteers and the group of Children and Youth that we serve in all communities involved. Goal: To establish a Mobile Computer Lab that improves academic and social skills of youth from grades 6 to 8 in the broader Jane Finch community. With the children and Youth in mind we have designed programs that include • Academic After School Programs (homework club, Tutoring and Computer Project Help) + French Language Program • Workshops for Educators: Teachers, Principals, Guidance, and the Psychologists; • Multicultural and Diversity community awareness
