Our agency has been making a difference in the lives of children living throughout the municipality of Clarington for over three decades. Big Brothers Big Sisters serves over 450 children through innovative programs such as 1:1 matches, In-School Mentoring, Big Bunch Group Mentoring, Couples Matches and the Champions of Change Leadership Development Program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is Canada's leading youth mentoring organization, serving over 30,000 children and youth in over 1,000 communities across the country. Big Sisters of Ottawa Carleton and Big Brothers of Ottawa were agencies in Ottawa that provided adult friends and mentors to girls and boys in need in order to enable them to achieve their full potential as young men and women. Studies have shown that mentoring is the most effective way of helping a youngster deal positively with the challenges of growing up. For almost 30 years, these two agencies operated side by side in the Greater Ottawa Area. Now, we are one organization, with an aim to improve service delivery, expand the number of children we serve and present a more coherent face to clients, funders and the general public alike.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex is a nonprofit volunteer organization that matches an interested, caring, adult volunteer with a young person between the ages of six and sixteen years. The relationship that develops is one of friendship which helps the child to see their worth and assume a positive place in society. The agency also utilizes a group work environment to increase the potential for individual growth and development, to provide opportunities for the development of peer relationships and to enhance the youth's career awareness and knowledge of community resources. The organization is committed to assisting both boys and girls who are facing difficult challenges in their personal lives, at home or at school.
