Mission statement The mission of Plant-for-the-Planet is to empower children and young people worldwide to engage in global solutions to fight the climate crisis. Our core focus is on the planting of trees as a generation-spanning, peace building activity, providing hope and buying us time to reach net-zero emissions. To that end, Plant-for-the-Planet is supporting global reforestation and ecosystem restoration efforts. Description Our adventures began in 2007, when at the end of a school presentation 9-years-old Felix Finkbeiner called on children of the world to plant a million trees in each country on Earth. This idea soon became an initiative backed by thousands. Plant-for-the-Planet was born! In the following years, Felix attended major conferences and events to invite children from all over the world to join his initiative as Climate Justice Ambassadors and to mobilize people around the globe to plant trees. In 2011, Felix spoke at the United Nations in New York, and called mankind for planting of a trillion trees. Only a few month later, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) handed over to us their Billion Tree Campaign - and with it the official World Tree Counter. This Billion Tree Campaign we soon expanded to become the Trillion Tree Campaign. Our claim is “Stop talking. Start planting.” In 2015, Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation in collaboration with Plant-for-the-Planet A.C. in Mexico started its own restoration site on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. Here we contribute to the global goal by planting the trees donated to us and thus restore degraded forests in one of the most threatened ecosystems of the world. As we embark on the restoration journey ourselves we can also provide all organizations worldwide with adequate support based as well on science and experience. Our vision and goals Plant-for-the-Planet has two central objectives: to support ecosystem restoration efforts globally as well as educate and prepare today’s children and youth to face the challenges of the climate crisis. For the children and young people it is about nothing less than their future on this planet. To support restoration and reforestation, Plant-for-the-Planet has developed different technical tools. One of these is the Plant-for-the-Planet platform, which favors the collaboration of people worldwide by helping restoration organizations throughout the world to get funds to finance the work of restoration in their countries. A spearheading innovation is the TreeMapper App. This App allows restoration organizations throughout the world to document and monitor their work directly on the field. All collected data are matched on the Plant-for-the-Planet platform so that the donors can track the progress of planting just from the sofa. To empower children and youth worldwide to make themselves heard Plant-for-the-Planet supports them in multiple ways. First of all with the Plant-for-the-Planet Academies, one-day-workshops during which children learn from their peers and train to become Climate Justice Ambassadors in their turn. In these academies, the children experience in a vivid way how the climate crisis threatens their future and the lives of people around the world. In working groups, they develop initial ideas for their actions they can take to mobilize for their future.. This is aimed at familiarizing them with social and climate justice, as well as their own civic duty. To date, 1,656 Academies in 75 countries have taken place and 92,837Climate Justice Ambassadors have been trained. The Ambassadors can then further their education and involvement by following online-workshops offered by Plant-for-the-Planet and held by individual experts and coaches or e-learning materials. We also enable our Climate Justice Ambassadors to hold speeches at events to raise awareness about the climate crisis and inform others about the mission of Plant-for-the-Planet. The impact of COVID-19 The global pandemic has had an impact on our activities. While our Plant-for-the-Planet international offices employees were able to work from home - thanks to digital communication tools and well prepared workflows - in Mexico our forest restoration team cannot. However, we are happy to report that we are able to continue working on our planting site and thanks to the implementation of measures ensuring the safety of our workers. Regarding our Academies, we had to move to an online format to ensure the safety of the participants and their family. For the Nations Refugee Outreach provides general educational and family services that help meet the practical needs of refugees and shares with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. We serve refugees from more than 20 countries resettled in the Dallas/Fort Worth area from ages 0-87 by emphasizing education, family services and the Christian gospel message through ESL classes, literacy, tutoring, preschool, citizenship classes, Bible studies, life skills, reading programs, field trips and seminars. We also help connect refugees to food, clothing and health care. Our vision is to bring these proven programs to more and more of the area’s large refugee population.

Statement of Faith We believe the Bible to be the Word of God, verbally inspired and wholly without error in all that it declares and therefore is the supreme and final authority for faith and life. We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, that he fell into sin through the first Adam, and that he is responsible for all sin committed after reaching the age of accountability and that sin causes him to be separated from God and lost eternally. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all who receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We believe that Christians are called and commanded to do good works. We believe that Christians are called to witness for Christ and to preach the gospel to all nations.

Students Bridging the Information Gap, Inc (SBIG) is a Summit, New Jersey-based non-governmental organization (NGO) that was founded in 2008 and has received its 501©(3) tax-exempt designation from the IRS. SBIG harnesses the humanitarian interests of students, corporate and faith-based partners and other civic groups to support fellow students in Ghana by providing computers and related equipment for learning labs, age appropriate reading materials and other support to beneficiary organizations. SBIG has a diverse set of trustees and members, representing the private commercial and non-profit sectors, students and their parents, and U.S. and overseas-based partners.

The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), An Indian Progresssive Service Society, is a registered non-governmental Voluntary organization established in 1978. BASS seeks to improve the livelihoods of children, youth, women and vulnerable people include sick people, -those who are at the highest risk due to challenging socio-economic conditions. BASS works to bring relief and opportunity to rural and urban communities negatively impacted by poverty. The activities of the organization seek to promote social justice, equality and empowerment to disadvantaged peoples and victims of disasters in the Guntur district. BASS facilitates many activities including: educational, economic, social, health care and emergency relief and rehabilitation services.

The Nature Trust of British Columbia is a leading land conservation organization based in BC. We acquire ecologically significant land through purchase, donation, covenant and lease. Then we care for this land in order to protect the natural diversity of wildlife and plants, and their critical habitats. Since 1971, The Nature Trust along with our partners has invested more than $70 million to secure over 69,000 hectares (170,000 acres) of land. This includes over 23,000 hectares (56,000 acres) that is owned, leased or covenanted and over 46,000 hectares (113,000 acres) that is under grazing licenses for our Biodiversity Ranches in the Okanagan.

The Rideau Trail crosses terrain ranging from placid farmland to the rugged Canadian shield. It is only intended for walking (hiking), snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. No part of the Rideau Trail itself is owned by the Rideau Trail Association; the continuity of the trail is made possible by the generous permission of both private and public landowners. Three hiking clubs of the RTA - Kingston, Central (Perth), and Ottawa - organize outings in all seasons of the year. Hikes usually take place on the weekend and comprise an activity appropriate for the season, such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and hiking in the spring, summer, and fall. Other activities are scheduled during the week or on some holidays. In 1989 a group of area residents who shared both a passion and deep interest in Pinery Park formed the Friends of Pinery Park. Aware of the increasing pressure on the rare ecosystems within the park’s boundaries from recreational activities, they recognized the need to foster and develop an appreciation and understanding of the park’s fragile and unique environment to its ever increasing number of users.

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada provides a lifelong home to donkeys and mules that have been neglected or abused, or that can no longer be cared for by their owners. The DSC provides a program in animal welfare education to school and community groups. In addition, the DSC has developed a Foster Farm Program wherein animals are placed in pairs on permanent loan at suitable farms. The Sanctuary Farm is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, 10-4, May through October.

Sharing Together an Awareness of Nature and Heritage in Gatinenau Park, an exceptional park.

Our priorities are to: 1) Protect the watershed by encouraging a community, ecosystem and watershed approach to environmental planning and protection; 2) Educate the public through nature walks, school field trips, presentations and community events to encourage environmental awareness, ethics and action; 3) Restore the watershed by training thousands of youth and community volunteers to restore forest, wetland and meadow habitat; 4) Monitor restoration work by performing follow-up watering, mulching and maintenance. We form productive conservation partnerships with schools, community groups, religious organizations, businesses, landowners, municipalities, government agencies, community leaders, foundations and environmental groups.
