AWARE is a member driven non profit that works to protect the natural environment in Whistler and the Sea to Sky corridor, through advocacy and speaking up about key environmental issues but also empowering others to do the same through education.

We channel our efforts into 4 areas: democracy, peace and citizenship; social justice movements; media, Information and Communications Technologies as well as social ecology. We also inform Canadians about national and international issues. We succeed in doing so through: our website, Alternatives' newspaper (free newspaper), our participation to Social Forums and coalitions, organisation of conferences and debates. Center for Social Services (CSSI) supports orphan girls and women in debilitating circumstances in India. The nonprofit organization in India runs an orphanage, school, and a center to assist women in becoming mentally and economically self-reliant and independent.

* To provide tools and methods, to create and facilitate opportunities for children and youth in developing social skills, a healthy identity, a sense of belonging to the society and in fulfilling their potential. * To introduce, advocate for and promote environments and cultures that enable children and youth to grow to their full potential. * To engage, share and collaborate with national and international communities and organizations, to expand, improve and enrich the methods of social circus pedagogy and its use around the world.

Since 2001, we have developed a comprehensive program of work to support, maintain and promote biocultural diversity on all levels through: - fos­ter­ing the devel­op­ment of poli­cies that rec­og­nize the vital impor­tance of the diver­sity of life in nature and cul­ture, and pro­mot­ing actions to imple­ment that policy at the inter­na­tional and national lev­els - mapping of the geo­graphic dis­tri­b­u­tion of bio­cul­tural diver­sity - the development of key indicators to detect changes in traditional ecological knowledge, linguistic and biocultural diversity over time - collaborating with schools to develop an integrative BCD educational curriculum - forging a global net­work of bio­cul­tural diver­sity con­ser­va­tion prac­ti­tion­ers and projects - establishing partnerships with Indigenous Groups to document Oral Literatures

At the Food Bank for Larimer County, we believe no one should be hungry. Our dream is to deliver health, hope and humanity to stabilize the lives of our clients and build a vibrant community. We are a private non-profit organization and the only Feeding America clearinghouse for donated food in our county. Each year, we provide food to more than 37,500 people in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs.
