Embrace Global

Embrace works to ensure that every baby, no matter where they are born, has access to lifesaving warmth and a chance to survive. Embrace Global is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to reducing neonatal mortality by ensuring that every baby—no matter where they are born—has access to life-saving warmth. Our mission is both simple and urgent: to provide innovative, portable incubators to the world’s most vulnerable newborns. Our vision is a world where no baby dies from preventable causes like hypothermia due to lack of access to basic care. Founded in 2007 by a team of Stanford students, Embrace developed a groundbreaking portable incubator designed specifically for low-resource settings, humanitarian emergencies, and conflict zones. These reusable devices require only an occasional power source to function, making them ideal for environments with unstable electricity. Unlike traditional incubators, Embrace incubators are easy to use, easy to clean, and built to withstand rugged conditions. What sets Embrace apart is our delivery model: -Our incubators are provided at no cost to trusted partners, ensuring equitable access for populations affected by poverty, displacement, or crisis. -We scale through partnerships with UN agencies, Ministries of Health, diaspora medical associations, and international NGOs such as CARE, UNICEF, and IRC. -We deploy rapidly and sustainably, working both in immediate emergency contexts and to strengthen local health systems for long-term impact. To date, Embrace has helped save over 1 million newborns across 25+ countries, including Ukraine, Syria, Gaza, Yemen, Zambia, and Armenia.

Watersheds Canada

We work with a broad range of stakeholders to improve cooperation for more effective water protection - including monitoring, data sharing, outreach, education, and research. We are in the process of re-designing Water Connections, an online portal to connect Canada's water community, in order to better serve its users. www.waterconnect.ca will allow everyone to share data, experiences, best practices, templates, news, and events about their own water activities, and will generate engagement within communities for water protection. Other important initiatives include educating shoreline owners and recreational water users how to best conserve the health of lakes and rivers. Our location is also home to an impressive demonstration site for a zero discharge wastewater garden!

NatureKids BC

The Young Naturalists’ Club is a network of family and school nature clubs led by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about nature. The program is designed for young people, aged 5 - 12, who care about nature in this beautiful province of British Columbia. We get young people and their families outside and excited about nature. Children are spending less time outdoors which is affecting not only their connection to the natural world but their ability to learn, their social development and their health. We discover nearby nature through our family field trips (Explorer Days), individual initiatives (Action Awards) and our quarterly publication (NatureWILD), the only children's magazine that focuses on BC nature and environment.

Equal As One

Access to health care and quality education are necessary means to alleviate the burdens of poverty. The primary focus of Equal As One is to provide initial assistance to poverty-stricken communities to setup healthcare centers and schools, then help these communities organize to sustain these institutions themselves. Equal As One embraces interdependence as a fundamental philosophy of life; no matter how absolute, separate or self-sufficient, people or aspects of life may seem, everything and everyone depends on something else. This philosophy inspires us to view every human being as equal, and as kin. They need each other. This will be the philosophy they hope to promote as we bring community members together to build sustainable and enduring institutions that add value to their lives.

Caring people are working hard to restore the health of our coastal waters. Togeher we can: reduce pollution in our waters; protect marine wildlife and its habitat; conserve wild salmon stocks; have a healthy economy and a healthy environment for generations to come.
