Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment

The Canadian Health and Environment Education and Research Foundation (CHEER) works to educate health professionals and citizens about environmental health hazards. Working with its sister organization, The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, CHEER has alerted Canadians to the hazards of lawn and garden pesticides and the safe, effective alternatives that now exist. It has also taught nurses and doctors how to make hospitals and medical clinics more environmentally-friendly. Finally, it has shown the public the advantages of organic agriculture.

National Organization of Victim Assistance

Founded in 1975, the National Organization for Victim Assistance is the oldest champion of rights and services for victims of crime and crisis in the worldwide victims' movement. Over the decades, NOVA has earned the respect of victims, their advocates, and their allies for advancing its four purposes: 1. Advocating for victim rights; 2. Improving the knowledge and skills of those who seek to help victims through training; 3. Responding directly to victims of crime and crisis with a toll-free "800" helpline; and, 4. Serving NOVA's members through its informative newsletters, its acclaimed annual conference, and its discounts on valuable materials and training.

National Disaster Search Dog Foundation

Our mission is to strengthen disaster response in America by rescuing and recruiting dogs and partnering them with firefighters and other first responders to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters. Since our inception in 1996, SDF has trained over 231 teams in California, Florida, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Baja California who have responded to over 200 disasters across the US and internationally.
