Our mission is to equip and enable East African trans* diverse individuals and institutions, to organise and advocate for the improvement of their health, the recognition of their gender, and the protection of their human rights; utilising informed research and documentation, particularly on health and HIV, and by enhancing their livelihoods through capacity strengthening and empowerment.
To help and support public health and education organizations in areas of need through sports activities such as running events, football, concerts, etc. to raise funds to purchase medical equipment and provide scholarships to students to continue their studies until they graduate from high school.
To empower women and break the cycle of poverty by promoting access to education, advancing sexual and reproductive health, supporting economic empowerment, and providing holistic mentorship. Through our core pillars-education support, SRHR advocacy, livelihood initiatives, and emotional and psychological guidance-we strive to foster self-sufficiency, dignity, and a brighter, more equitable future for women and their communities.
For nearly fifteen years Ashkenaz has brought the finest in Jewish art and culture to Toronto audiences. Now entering our "15th Anniversary" festival, we are proud to present an amazing new festival featuring 90 acts and over 200 performers from across Canada and around the globe. Concerts, theatre performances, literary events, visual arts exhibits, kids programs, and hands-on workshops in dance, music and craft... all capped off by the Ashkenaz Parade, which will once again transform Harbourfront Centre into a swirling spectacle of sound, colour, and group revelry. Ashkenaz offers a variety of patron packages to its valued donors. All patrons receive a charitable tax receipt and acknowledgment in our Festival Program Book and website.
