Atlas is a nationally and provincially designated industrial heritage site, described by historians as the most complete coal mining museum in Canada. The site is owned and operated by the Atlas Coal Mine Historical Society, a local not-for-profit. Atlas is unique in generating the majority of its annual budget through gate revenues. Donations are essential for historic preservation, and maximizing the impact of the valley's "mine-blowing" history.

Thank you for your interest in helping us preserve the Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum so that we can continue to offer enlightened and inspired public programs. The Sharon Temple represents many things. To some, it represents one of the finest and most unique examples of Canadian architecture. To others, the Temple stands as a beacon to the values that Canada has become known for around the world; those of equality and social justice. And still to others, the Temple represents the importance of preserving our past so that future generations may learn from it and be inspired by it. Friends offer high quality heritage tourism programs and experiences including the development and presentation of educational programs and special events, as well as, coordinating collaborative work on park improvement projects. - Jasper Trail Alliance (volunteers lending a hand to support Jasper's great trail network) - Self-guided brochures and Guided Historical Walks - Bird watching programs and bird banding - Full Moon and Mysteries of the Night Hikes - Junior Naturalist for kids and volunteer trail days for youth and adults. - Park improvement projects including: Cavell Meadows Restoration, Jasper Discovery Trail Interpretive Signage, Jasper Townsite Trail Maps, Pyramid Island Restoration and Interpretive Project, Columbia Icefield Interpretive Signage Project and Driver's for Wildlife. - Special Events: Moonlight Madness, Parks Day, Christmas Bird Count and partnering with community activities.
