STCL began in 1987, was officially incorporated in 1992, and is a non-profit, Registered Canadian Charity (1996) based in the Upper Fraser River of the Robson Valley, between the Rocky and Cariboo Mountains of British Columbia, and the towns of Prince George and Jasper. HER Fund was set up on March 8, 2004 by a group of women activists in honour of International Women's Day. Our main objective is to raise funds and give grants to support work by women, with women and for women in Hong Kong. Next to this, an important aspect of our work is to raise awareness of women's position and rights in Hong Kong. Our mission is mobilizing resources and investing in empowering women and girls to create change in communities for gender equality.
