Saving Wildlife International’s (SWI) mission is to assist people of all ages and cultures in developing an awareness of and commitment to nature that will result in informed decisions and constructive actions concerning wildlife and our environment. Since April 2000, SWI has enthusiastically shared its commitment to wildlife conservation with diverse audiences ranging from school classrooms to national television. Well on its way to becoming a nationally recognized wildlife organization, they are proud to provide displaced animals with a purpose and permanent home. SWI offers wildlife presentations featuring live mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians to primary and secondary schools, military bases, homeless shelters, and retirement communities throughout California.
Farm Radio International is a Canadian charity that has been working since 1979 to harness the power of radio to meet the needs of small-scale farmers. We work with more than 500 radio partners located in 38 African countries to fight poverty and food insecurity. With the benefit of FRI resources and training, our broadcasting partners deliver practical, relevant, and timely information to tens of millions of farmers. We also work with a range of partners to implement radio projects that address specific development challenges and community needs. In 2012, FRI received the Innovation Challenge Award from the Rockefeller Foundation in recognition of our work using radio in combination with modern ICTs to improve livelihoods and change lives.

For example, CPI built its first village. Land was purchased, subdivided and sold to eleven families. These families will get training needed to raise the crops needed to pay for the land and the house each family will got. The houses were built by the partner families. Payments from houses and land will be placed in a rotating fund and will be used to help more families acquire houses and land. Self-Help International (SHI) devotes its efforts to alleviating world hunger and poverty by providing opportunities to rural citizens that ultimately lead to self-reliance. Since its inception, Self-Help has served as a vessel; training, education, and opportunities are provided to rural citizens and whole communities in developing countries so that they can have better lives. MISSION STATEMENT: To alleviate hunger by helping people help themselves. SELF-HELP'S INITIATIVE Educate: We educate the people of the United States to understand the problems of life in developing countries particularly the awareness of the perpetual struggle by millions to produce and distribute food to battle persistent chronic hunger and poverty; we help tell their story Train: We train people in developing countries in the use of Quality Protein Maize (QPM). This increases crop yields and improves nutrition. We assist local farm families with planting, Improve: We improve infant and pre-school children's diets by administering an improved porridge feeding program. Made from QPM and pinches of barley malt, this combination has been proven to alleviate malnutrition, thwart sickness, and keep children in school so they can continue their education. Empower: We provide micro-credit loans for women to start small scale businesses. This availability of credit empowers women and increases their income - because they do not have access to traditional financing. Cooperate: We cooperate with other organizations and agencies in the introduction of appropriate farming practices or advancement in the battle against poverty and malnutrition.
