The Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation became a reality on May 17, 1983. The first Board of Governors consisted of three prominent Occupational Therapists: Karen Goldenberg, President; Dr. Thelma Cardwell, Vice President and Dr. Isobel Robinson, Secretary / Treasurer. The purpose of COTF has always been to support research and scholarship in the field of occupational therapy. The Foundation’s focus has been on generating, receiving and maintaining funds and developing mechanisms for granting awards to individuals and organizations for research and scholarships. From 1983 to 1995, COTF and CAOT shared office space in Toronto. When CAOT relocated to Ottawa in 1995, COTF remained in Toronto. A decision was made in 2002 for the Foundation to once again share office space with CAOT in order to foster a synergistic relationship which would benefit the entire occupational therapy community. Since 2004, COTF and CAOT share office space in Ottawa.

The Essex Region Conservation Foundation (ERCF) was established in 1977 with a vital goal to receive and maintain funds for charitable, educational, conservation, and heritage purposes related to the conservation, restoration, development, and management of natural and heritage resources in the Essex region.

Our Vision The Canadian Race Relations Foundation aims to help bring about a more harmonious Canada that acknowledges its racist past, recognizes the pervasiveness of racism today, and is committed to creating a future in which all Canadians are treated equitably and fairly.

Some of the projects and activities that may be funded by the Foundation are: - literacy and after-school programs, additional help to students - scholarships, bursaries and prizes - educational trips, cultural exchanges, art and music programs - sports activities - improvement of facilities - purchase of library books and educational equipment

We are a charitable organization with a mandate of generating and accepting donations and bequests designated for the Northern Secondary School. By making a financial contribution to the Northern Secondary School Foundation, you can become part of our 'family' and help to sustain ongoing projects and scholarship awards to graduating students.

The West Vancouver Foundation is a non-profit, non-government community fund, dedicated to improving the quality of life in West Vancouver. We assist organizations and people, through grants and awards, with special emphasis on health, education, the arts, social services, and West Vancouver's physical environment.

If you were asked to name two great leaders of Canadian Socialism, it is likely that Tommy Douglas and M.J. Coldwell would come to mind. Their life-long contributions to social democracy in Canada and around the globe are well celebrated. One dream they shared was to create a Canadian equivalent to Britain's Fabian Society, an independent left-wing group unobligated to any other organization or political party. In 1971 this dream became a reality with the establishment of the Douglas-Coldwell Foundation with Tommy Douglas as it's founding President. In the words of Tommy Douglas, the Foundation would be "a gadfly to provoke discussion…to keep the movements on the left-whether the co-operative movement, the trade union movement or the political movement- from getting in a rut."

The Canadian Battlefields Foundation (CBF) underwrites an annual bursary program for study and research in Canadian military history of the 20th Century and supports and encourages Canadian universities in the teaching of and research into Canada's military operations of the 20th Century. CBF commemorates the service and sacrifice of all Canadians who have served their country in the cause of freedom.

We believe that some things in life should never change...like healthy rivers and lakes, peaceful natural areas, forest walks and safe havens for birds, fish and wildlife. Since 1970, the Conservation Foundation has protected these places of natural beauty, environmental value and spiritual replenishment right here at home in the Rideau Valley of Eastern Ontario.

The Unlocking Potential (UP) Foundation raises funds for Catholic Family Service (CFS) to help people deal with debilitating issues like poverty, addictions, abuse, mental health and other concerns that stand in the way of living life to its full potential. UP was created in 2009 as a distinct foundation dedicated to “unlocking the potential” of the Calgary community to take part in raising money for innovative, high-impact programs aimed at “unlocking the potential” of vulnerable people to thrive. Humanity above all is our mantra. This means we don’t turn our backs on anyone – from any faith or culture. We treat everyone with love, kindness and respect – just like a member of the family. Fundamentally, we believe in people. And the extraordinary ability within us all to overcome challenges and become successful, caring and contributing members of society.

The Foundation supports creating, developing and promoting the best conditions for education of students at Malvern Collegiate Institute, including support for staff through teaching research, education tools and professional development. Donations to the MRBS are used to fund the bi-annual newsletter, the website, special events, office and archives expenses, and the annual MRBS award to a male and female student who have contributed to fostering the Malvern spirit.
