Inspired by el Sistema, a youth music program rooted in Venezuela, SONG supports the mission by providing a socially inclusive choral and orchestral music program for under-served children and youth in Northumberland County, Ontario. As the founder of el Sistema, Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu, once said, “Music, within people’s reach, must be the highest expression of human dignity and social justice.” Through SONG not only will music be within children’s reach – it will change their lives.
