THE SCOTTISH RITE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION OF CANADA

The Scottish Rite Freemasons created the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation of Canada in 1964, funded by donations and bequests from thousands of members across the country. From the inception, the Foundation has concentrated its efforts in support of research into the causes of, and hopefully the eventual cure of “puzzles of the mind”, especially as it afflicts children and persons of advanced years. The Foundation concentrates its assistance in research into the causes of “puzzles of the mind” as opposed to active treatment. Each year, the Foundation disburses the income earned on its endowment funds to medical research and university bursaries. In recent years this disbursement has been approximately $550,000 annually. Giving has never been easier now that we can accept secure online donations with the assistance of CanadHelps.org. Donate in memoriam, in honour of family or friends, or to celebrate special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays and holidays.

FRIENDS OF THE MENNONITE CENTRE IN UKRAINE

In the summer of 2000 a newly-formed international association "Friends of the Mennonite Centre in Ukraine" purchased the former Girls' School in Molochansk as the focus of a program of Mennonite humanitarian assistance in southern Ukraine. We shared the expectations of Molochansk Mayor Alexandra Saenko, who, in negotiations for the privatization & purchase of the building, said: "I know Mennonites quite well. I think that the Centre offers our devastated people hope. Perhaps the school will become a 'light on a hill'. We are eager to work with you". Since the USSR collapse, Ukraine has been passing through a harsh subsistence, health & economic crisis which continues. At risk are seniors and children. Food, medical, & social assistance initiatives were begun in 2001, followed by educational programs. We have partnered with local government, hospitals, orphanages & schools to offer help & hope to Ukrainians in tangible ways, regardless of gender, ethnic background or religion.

THE FRONTIER CENTRE FOR PUBLIC POLICY INC

The Frontier Centre for Public Policy (FCPP) is an independent Canadian public policy think tank. Based in Winnipeg the Frontier Centre received charitable status in 1999 and currently has offices in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Our research aims to analyze current affairs and public policies and develop effective and meaningful ideas for good governance and reform. We provide a platform for public debate and engage with the public through our numerous publications and events.Unlike political or lobby groups, which often represent only the narrow interests of their members, we aim to advance the interests of the public as a whole. As a think tank, we are free to explore new ideas and policy initiatives unconstrained by the pressures that political parties face to be popular at the polls. In order to protect our independence, and our reputation as a research group, the Frontier Centre neither seeks nor accepts any government funding whatsoever.
