The PEF's mission is to raise funds to not only maintain what Palos Verdes public schools provide children, but to increase the quality of the school's instructional programs -- ensuring that our students continue to compete on a national and international level in college and beyond.  

Founded in 1983, the mission of Writers in the Schools (WITS) is to engage children in the joy and power of reading and writing. WITS was founded through the University of Houston's renowned creative writing program to bring some of our nation's most talented writers into school and community classrooms to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children. The WITS program is an effective force for educational change, integrating arts and education to ignite a love of learning in more than 400,000 children and their teachers since its founding. WITS leads an international movement for creative learning, helping children and teachers across the world explore literacy in creative ways.

Avalon School prepares students for college and life in a strong, nurturing community that inspires active learning, engaged citizenship, and hope for the future.

The Kiran Anjali Project's mission is to advance educational opportunities for underprivileged children, especially girls, in India.

The Philips Brooks School Community inspires students to love learning, to develop a spiritual nature, to commuicate effectively, to be kind to others and to respect the uniqueness of each person. 

The mission of the Edible Schoolyard Project is to build andshare an edible education curriculum for kindergarten through high school. Ourvision is for gardens and kitchens to become interactive classrooms foracademic subjects, and for every student to have a free, nutritious, organiclunch. If this program is integrated into schools, the curriculum couldtransform the health and values of every child in America.

The Banner School is a co-educational, independent school composed of a preschool (3- and 4-year-olds), primary school (kindergarten-4th grade), and a middle school for grades 5-8. Its mission is to provide an academically challenging curriculum in a secure environment, to motivate students to achieve to the best of their abilities, and, in so doing, to stimulate a lifelong love of learning.

Spread the Word Nevada is dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the homes of children within Nevada's low income communities. Through community collaboration, mentorship and family partnership programs, Kids to Kids fosters reading and language development opportunities ultimately leading to brighter academic and economic futures for these children. We are dedicated to changing the lives of our at-risk children, one book at a time.
