The Extra Mile Education Foundation supports the education of urban children in select Pittsburgh parochial elementary schools through operational and scholarship support. The schools are in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, and the students are primarily African American and non-Catholic.

iUrban Teen is a nationally recognized program focused on bringing STEM+C+A education to youth of color ages 13 to 18. Youth receive hands-on exposure to a variety of careers that step them outside their current boundaries. Our target demographics are African American, Latino and Native American youth, however, the program is inclusive of all youth who fall within the Non-Traditional STEM Learners category, including youth with disabilities.OUR GOALSIncrease awareness and knowledge of STEM+C+A careers and training.Provide mentoring and internship opportunities.Create a collaborative learning model for youth to continue to use in various surroundings.Create a personal development plan in an interactive environment.

The Center for Teaching and Learning is a K-8 demonstration school dedicated to the development and dissemination of authentic, rigorous, and joyful methods for teaching across the curriculum. We seek to teach and influence both a cross-section of children of mid-coastal Maine and, through our intern program, presentations, and publications, classroom teachers throughout the U.S.

ISB offers both a bilingual education that is based on the best of the French and American academic systems and leads to the French Baccalaureate or, alternatively, an international, English-based program leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Within these two contexts, it is our aim, as our Philosophy states, “to provide students with a positive, inclusive learning environment, in which they have every opportunity to achieve their full potential.”

Globe Smart Kids uses technology to help children grow up feeling safe, happy and excited about interacting with diverse people and in diverse contexts. Our mission is to tackle prejudice before it begins. We make One Globe Kids: engaging, evidence-based education materials designed to encourage cross-group friendship while meeting standards in Language and Social Studies (English, History, Geography, Citizenship) for children 4 - 10 years.

BECA exists to promote cultural exchange and provide affordable bilingual education. In our volunteer-driven bilingual school model, Central American students learn from dedicated volunteer teachers, and those volunteers learn from the community in which they are immersed. Providing educational access and empowerment to the most financially disadvantaged members of a community is a defining characteristic of our program; it should come as no surprise that "beca" means scholarship in Spanish.

Stagebridge enriches the lives of older adults and their communities through the performing arts. Stagebridge works to fundamentally transform american attitudes towards aging from the traditional image of decline to a new vision of continuous growth. We accomplish this with nationally recognized and award-winning creative aging programs that offer older adults opportunities for lifelong learning and participation in the performing arts. Stagebridge’s unique position as a theatre company “for, by and of” seniors demonstrates in action the many ways in which elders improve and enrich our culture and our communities.

A Better Chance seeks to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. This is done by facilitating their entry into independent college preparatory schools. Through its network of member schools, A Better Chance is able to leverage an estimated $20+ million per year in financial aid for talented, economically disadvantaged youth of color. More than 96% of A Better Chance's graduates go on to college directly after high school, a majority entering our country's most selective colleges.
