The primary mission (as it currently exists) of Abba's House Children's Center, a non-profit center, Cien Fuegos, Dominican Republic is to provide medical, nutritional, educational, social, emotional, psychological, and Christ-Centered spiritual care for orphaned, abandoned, or otherwise needy children living in extreme poverty in Cien Fuegos, Dominican Republic. We are committed to providing a safe environment to enhance each child's wellbeing. Prior to the opening of this Center, these children would: Scavenge for items in the city dump that they might be able to sell to help their families or for food that is consumable; Wander the streets with no shoes and sometimes with no clothing; Become victims of sexual or work exploitation; Suffer early pregnancies; Suffer from malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies and diseases; Have no access to vaccinations and even the most basic health care; Drink unclean, water; Join gangs for familial connections and then engage in criminal activity. Our further hopes are to (1) provide free healthcare for Cien Fuegos residents who currently have no access to medical services (2) provide jobs to area residents in our educational, medical, and vocational sub-centers (3) empower underserved and vulnerable individuals via jobs and training via economic viability and self-sufficiency (4) improve the quality of life of children and adult residents while fostering a sense of responsibility for the local community ***NOTE: The primary purpose of this GlobalGiving Initiative is to create a FREE medical clinic for the citizens of Cien Fuegos and to provide a Vocational Education Program at the Center where the older children can learn trades. Neither of these initiatives will be associated with religious training or indoctrination of any kind. These services will be objective, non-religious services.

Outreach Uganda is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Colorado and dedicated to helping empower Ugandans, especially women and children, to rise out of poverty. To do this, we work with village groups in Uganda to bring hope and improve lives, especially in the areas of education, women's empowerment, and self-sufficiency through job creation. Initially, our village groups help support themselves and their families through sales of paper beaded jewelry and other craft items. The beaders save money from their bead sales so they can then start own group or individual businesses to supplement their income and eventually we hope it will be their main source of income. Micro-credit loans from their group's internal revolving loan fund provides additional help for the ladies to either start businesses or further expand their existing businesses to a level that will help them rise above poverty. As an organization, we emphasize to both our donors and our clients that we believe in truly empowering those we help. In everything we do, we seek to be a partner with those we serve so that they do not become dependent on us, and so that we do not take away their spirit of wanting to help themselves. We believe that income-generation of the women, and education of the children is the way that families can truly become empowered. But it is essential to take a holistic approach and focus on multiple areas, all of which impact the woman's income-generation potential. For instance, a woman must be relatively healthy to be a successful business owner. Therefore, we must also help a woman address issues of health. For many of our women in northern Uganda, agriculture and the raising of cash crops will be key to their income generation potential. Therefore, agricultural issues, water issues and even land access and rights become important areas to address.

Advocate for Women, youth, Girls, People Living with HIV/AIDS, People with Disability and Children's rights. 3. Raising awareness on Environmental Conservation, Protection and Rehabilitation. 4. Empower the Community embrace development initiative and economically. 5. Improving agriculture by promoting sustainable farming systems which are environmentally sound, economically viable and socially acceptable, which will improve agricultural productivity and market opportunities for small holder farmers and promote sustainable agriculture, control over land and other natural resources. Empower and Protect children, adolescent girls, women and provide aid to vulnerable people in Ghana's impoverished and underserved communities. We must create projects/programs that are community-based residential institute that operates under the premise that basic human needs must be met to create an environment where transformation can begin to happen. We offer our programs to the poorest of the poor, to the children and youth in greatest need, without ulterior motive. We devote ourselves to helping vulnerable children and of all faiths, cultures, backgrounds and race , without imposing any religious obligation or conversion requirement upon them. EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTH Seek And Save Mission Ministries (SASMM) helps vulnerable children in impoverished and underserved rural Ghana so that they complete their education in freedom to balance gender-equity. We promote and improve girls' access, participation, and retention in schools. Provide educational materials such as uniform ,Shoes, books, notebooks, pens, pencils, stationary, sanitary pad, cash for feeding and boarding fees .Provides shelter, basic human needs and job for victims and survivors of Child Abuse, exploitation, human trafficking, labour and modern slavery. WE HELP FAMILIES BECOME MORE SUSTAINABLE BY PROVIDING RESOURCES TO START SMALL BUSINESSES TO EARN MONEY Empowering and Protecting Vulnerable Children and Women by providing access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities .We help families become more sustainable by providing resources to start small businesses to earn money so they can better take care of their children and themselves. Farmers increase the production of food to feed their families, and villages access clean sources of water. Our programs train villagers in production methods, business practices, finances, and agriculture. MOBILIZE VOLUNTEERS, CHILDREN AND YOUTH FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH Supporting Underserved Communities by providing aid to underserved communities (rural areas and slums) and mobilize volunteers, children and youth for community outreach in Ghana.. "No child's life shall be curtailed by the circumstances of his or her birth because each one deserves absolute love and infinite opportunity to grow" Established in 2012, our fundamental purpose is to deliver those without means into this world safely and render them to a loving family securely. To provide and ensure quality healthcare, education, and recreation to all children, is our broader initiative. We have due to the support of donor organizations made progress by leaps and bounds. Our presence in Machar Colony has helped the community in providing them with services that are the basic right of every individual. Following are the projects that we have initiated in Machar Colony: 1. Khel- A learning and rereational centre for children in Machar colony, which solely focus on providing a learning space, a play area and a secure environment for children who work at night in shrimp peeling factories and are found gambling or aimlessly roaming the streets in the day time. 2. Sehat Ghar- a maternal and child health clinic under the name Sehat Ghar and since its inception in 2014 has treated 45,000+ patients for Hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, water-borne diseases, scabies, respiratory disorders and diabetes. Our program is working with expectant mothers and newborn children and is enabling the community through various medical camps in order to make informed decisions regarding health, family planning and child birth. The three room clinic has an ultrasound facility and a running labor room for expectant mothers. 3. Pasban-e-Mauhal- An environmentally friendly initiative focusing on solid waste management and waste disposal. A garbage loader and two sanitary workers have been assigned under this project which go door-to-door and collect waste. 4. Imkaan Ghar- A shelter for abandoned babies. Imkaan Ghar shelters babies that are rescued and are provided healthcare and a safe home until adopted by forever families.

Since our establishment in 1984, SIBAT envisions a just and sovereign society that upholds genuine development through people-based science & technology. As such, SIBAT have gained significant breakthroughs in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, genetic conservation and water systems development. By the end of 2022, SIBAT's goals are: 1. Asegis is a grassroots entity founded in 2014 in Turkana County, Kenya, focusing on environmental health and the empowerment of pastoral local communities. It stands for societal advancement through sustainable environmental practices and upholds the environmental rights of pastoral and marginalized groups. The name Asegis epitomizes cleanliness and is a testament to its dedication to the Turkana pastoralists. The organization is actively involved in advocating for environmental challenges in pastoral lands, including advocating for proper management of hazardous waste in the Lokichar Oil Basin, while also championing the rights of the underrepresented. Asegis's commitment to community involvement and advocacy is a step towards a future where environmental and social well-being are closely connected. At Donate4Refugees our vision is for every displaced person in Europe to be welcomed with humanity and respect in Europe and given the helping hand they need to find safety, peace and happiness in their new forever home. We work collaboratively to help ensure every displaced man, women and child asking for Europe's help gets the support they need to start their new life with dignity. That is, to have a place to live, enough food to eat, clothes to wear, warmth, lighting and hygiene. Along with access to essential information and education. Meanwhile, on the Greek mainland, evictions are making hundreds of families street homeless, living in poverty. Whilst the Greek arrival islands buckle under severe over-crowding, lack of basic hygiene and appalling food within camps sending tensions inside the camps, and right wing violence outside of them, soaring. Life for refugees in Europe's hot spots in 2020 is utterly miserable. The hope in people's eyes is disappearing, the smiles are fading... Now that you know, will you help? Within this devastating environment our volunteers are too often providing the only lifeline to refugees. Donate4Refugees uniquely brings together donations from individuals, businesses and trusts to give grants and emergency funding to our trusted grassroots partners on-the-ground. Those volunteers supporting refugee communities on Europe's front-lines. Together we're filling shamefully big gaps in aid and humanity and, without the tireless dedication of our volunteers, refugee men, women and children would be struggling to even survive. We're acting now providing very real help, human-to-human, to many of the world's most vulnerable people. We only wish we didn't have to.

Can remote villages have the same opportunities as urban centres? Can rural residents have access to careers, clean water, healthcare, education, productive agriculture and communication-without leaving their villages? Smart Villages believes that people in remote villages deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. Remote villages are often "off the grid" and do not have a reliable supply of energy for lighting homes, cooking, charging mobile phones, or powering businesses. The energy sources they do have, such as kerosene lamps, are often harmful to their health. The national grid may never reach many of these remote villages, but other solutions exist. We believe that energy access in off-grid communities is one of the services that can change lives-but only if it is implemented for the long-term and includes community involvement and training. And for development to happen sustainably, energy and other technologies must be harnessed for productive use, and for the innovative provision of community-level services (for example health and education), so that community residents are able to access all the basic services they need, despite their physical remoteness. Every village can be a "smart village." Smart Villages has provided policy makers, donors and development agencies concerned with rural energy access with new insights on the real barriers to energy access and innovation-driven rural development in villages in developing countries - technological, financial and political - and how they can be overcome. We are focusing more on remote off-grid villages, where local solutions (home- or institution-based systems, and mini-grids) are both more realistic and cheaper than national grid extension. But our approach is equally valid in other situations. Our concern is to ensure that energy access goes hand in hand with smarter, more integrated thinking about rural communities, and results in development and the creation of 'smart villages' in which many of the benefits of life in modern societies are available. In our ongoing work, we aim to demonstrate how Smart Villages and integrated rural development initiatives can be created in a sustainable and community-driven manner, and to evidence how this new holistic rural development paradigm can yield superior, lasting development impacts. We are also committed to investigating innovative technologies that can help deliver some of these integrated development objectives - for example innovative agricultural technology, cold storage, ICT access, remote education and telemedicine. We aim to win grant funding, and raise charitable funding, to implement projects to help catalyse sustainable community-led and focussed rural development worldwide, but particularly in Africa, where we already have a number of active projects.

Bududa Learning Center is an umbrella organization that includes a vocational high school, an orphans program for children, and a microfinance program for women. It is located in the isolated mountain district of eastern Uganda. It was founded by Canadian-born Barbara Wybar, who has been living on site a portion of each year for the past 14 years. This isolated region, one of the poorest in Uganda, is over-populated with most families having an average of 8 children. They live by growing their own food. Most of the region has no running water or electricity. Both the education and health care system are severely under-funded and inadequate. Jobs are scarce. Most people are hungry most of the time. How & Who We Help. We work to address the problems in three ways: 1. Training young people in basic trades: carpentry; brick-laying; dress-making and tailoring; nursery teacher training; computer skills training; and hairdressing training. 2. Providing broad support to 170 children and young people, many of them orphans from AIDS, by providing education enrichment, food, and health care. 3. Training and providing micro finance loans to single mothers and grandmothers in the region who are bringing up children on their own and have no means of support, so they can start small businesses. How It Is Run The Center is staffed by Ugandans working in a professional capacity. Barbara Wybar acts as Executive Director and works in a volunteer capacity. There is a growing volunteer contingent of people from the west who visit and do volunteer work there and others who take on management and administrative work in Canada and the US in a volunteer capacity. A guest house and annex provide housing for up to 12 visiting volunteers at a time. Local Oversight A local Advisory Board of the Center, led by Father Paul Buyela, provides oversight to the headmaster of the school and the directors of the two other programs. It is made up of representatives of the teachers, the parents, the regional education board, and the community as well as the executive director. The chairman is a highly respected educator as well as clerical leader in the region at large. Governance and Financial Support Bududa Canada Foundation provides governance to the Center and raises funds from individuals, foundations, and organizations to support the Center. It is incorporated in Canada holds charitable status from the Canadian Revenue Authority (#82535 8286 RR0001). There is a board directors of five people, three of whom are Canadian and two American. Financial support comes from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
