Provincia San Juan de Dios Espana

San Juan de Dios is a non-profit institution created more than 40 years ago whose mission is to heal, care for and accompany people in vulnerable situations. The person in need is at the center of our activity. We serve their physical, psychological, social and economic needs. Our aim is to promote and improve people's health and quality of life, as well as improve their opportunities for inclusion in society, without distinction based on gender, beliefs or origin, to create a fairer and supportive society. Our main value is hospitality, being welcoming. San Juan de Dios has 80 centers throughout Spain, from which we work in various areas such as: hospitalized children, people in a homeless situation, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, people in a situation of dependency, people who have migrated, refugees, etc. In Valencia (city where the project with FORD will be developed), we focus on homeless people, whom we accompany to create opportunities that allow them to develop their life project, always taking into consideration their desires and needs. We have an Inclusion Residential Center (IRC) with 50 places for adult people and 50 more places in shared apartments for individuals and families. We have recently opened two Social Emergency Center (CUS) that, through the offer of a temporary emergency housing solution, searches to prevent people in extreme vulnerability from suddenly finding themselves on the street. Apart from offering a shelter, we develop different programs to meet the specific needs of each person: health issues (physical, mental, emotional), access to rights, training and employment, as well as community ties. All of these, are important areas to encourage having an autonomous and stable life project.

The Failte Centre

The Failte Centre takes its name from "Failte," the Irish word for "welcome." Failte (pronounced FAHL-chuh) emphasises our core approach: we welcome all individuals regardless of age, gender, background, nationality, political orientation or religion. Our mission at The Failte Centre is to provide both individualised learning opportunities as well as mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS) services in a welcoming and caring environment. We refer to those that come to Failte as individuals, rather than beneficiaries or vulnerable people. This philosophy is reflected in how we treat every person that comes through our door: as individuals who deserve dignified, tailored responses to their specific concerns and needs. Furthermore, the values of empathy, respect and inclusivity are incorporated into the services we provide at Failte.
