Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire

Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire's (RRFB) mission is to help protect, replenish, and restore the biodiverse coral reefs of Bonaire. We focus on implementing innovative, science-based programs that expand and strengthen populations of keystone coral reef species. We do this so that the reefs of Bonaire can gain the necessary scale, genetic diversity, and resilience to thrive today and in the uncertain, ever-changing conditions of the future. RRFB works closely with key stakeholders on Bonaire (governments, the marine park, divers and dive operators, local businesses, and other non-profits) to spearhead reef restoration on the island. RRFB actively engages with and inspires Bonaire's residents and visitors with interactive educational programs and events. Our core mission is dependent upon a growing force of well-trained local volunteers. RRFB partners with world-class scientists and science-backed organizations to accelerate our work, refine our restoration techniques, and properly communicate our progress here on Bonaire. RRFB is committed to seeking international recognition for Bonaire as a Coral Reef Restoration Center of Excellence. RRFB attracts scientists and restoration practitioners from around the globe who come to Bonaire in search of proper training techniques and best-practice education.

Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa

Our mission is to provide outstanding education and leadership opportunities to women and youth. Leymah Gbowee is best known as the extraordinary woman who launched a powerful movement of thousands of women-from 16 different ethnic groups, across religious divides-to end Liberia's bloody civil war. Back in 1999, when the country, after a brief period of calm, was thrown once again into chaos, when women and children faced unprecedented levels of cruelty and displacement, when a quarter of a million people died and many more fled, and when the economic, political and educational systems threatened to completely collapse, the network of Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace took matters into their own hands. Boldly, the women marched in the streets; clamored for the deployment of foreign peacekeepers; demanded a ceasefire; spoke passionately in public forums; held pray-ins, sit-ins and a sex strike; demanded the resumption of peace talks when they stalled; and blockaded the peace talks with their bodies, forcing warlords to negotiate. With those actions, the women achieved the impossible without a single shot. They ended Liberia's civil war, deposing the nation's notorious leader Charles Taylor, ushering in a hopeful new period of democratic self-governance, and paving the way for the election of Liberia-and Africa's-first female president. But that was not the end of the story; in fact, it was the beginning. As history attests, peace is not a moment; it is a process. Building a lasting peace demands recognizing the importance of the empowerment and participation of women; that, in turn, demands ensuring that women and girls have access to education for life and leadership. It has been and remains the dream of Leymah Gbowee- awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 for her work in ending Liberia's civil war-to see women and girls empowered in Liberia, throughout West Africa, and worldwide to realize their own dreams and work confidently towards humanity's shared dream of peace and security. She believes that journey to sustainable peace must begin with girls' education. A major step towards achieving that goal came in 2012 when Gbowee founded the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa in Liberia. With offices in the capital city, Monrovia, GPFA is Liberia's leading grassroots, community-based organization dedicated to building sustainable peace in that country and throughout West Africa. It is focused on girls' education, women's empowerment, sustaining the peace, and ensuring security that goes beyond freedom from violence and war to encompass all aspects of human security-for food, health, environmental, personal, political and community security. In the short years since Leymah Gbowee founded the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa in Liberia, we have seen how eager Liberia's girls are to take advantage of the opportunity to follow their own dreams and help to make the dreams of their families and their communities come true. Today, GPFA is the leading grassroots, community-based organization in Liberia dedicated to building sustainable peace, increasing access to education for women and girls and supporting their full and active participation in the economic, social and political life of the country. GPFA achieves its goals through a comprehensive program of scholarships, mentoring, internships, leadership development and community-building activities.

The Mccarthy-Dixon Foundation

Initially established as a foodbank in March of 2020, we sought to alleviate hunger for people experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as demand grew and we adapted to the changing needs of those we supported, our services grew. We now provide food parcels to over 90 Northamptonshire schools, as well as other vital organisations such as the Northamptonshire Community Mental Health Teams, Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service, Northamptonshire Children's Trust, Northamptonshire Social Services, and Northamptonshire HM Prisons and Probation service. Since 2020, we have supported over 103,000 people with our food parcels alone. However, our foodbank is not the only service we offer. We also tackle social isolation and wellbeing with our three weekly social clubs, which target locally identified groups in need of this provision. These clubs take a focus on wellbeing, ensuring no member of the community is left struggling or alone. We offer a Minibus service for our club members, providing transportation to and from the clubs, picking them up from home and returning them after the sessions. We also use our minibus to take our club members on monthly trips to local attractions or places of interest. We also run our Doorstep Buddies program, which provides regular at-home visits to people who are socially isolated, giving them the opportunity to have a catch-up with someone. We offer a variety of other community welfare services that have an equally enormous impact on people's wellbeing. This includes home rimprovements for people suffering ill-health and bereavement and gardening services for those who may struggle to do so themselves. On top of this, we offer 1-1 guidance and support sessions with benefits and other welfare applications, and educational services including cookery and digital inclusion classes. The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation is a lifeline for hundreds in the Northamptonshire community, and many be in a very different position without our support. Since establishing as a charity back in 2020, we have offered invaluable aid to thousands, supporting them through times of immense struggle and hardship.

SERENDIP BE THECHANGE FOUNDATION

Serendip Be The Change Foundation's Vision Mission Statement Our Vision: We envision a Sri Lanka free from hunger, gender-based violence, and lack of opportunities-where every child has access to quality nutrition and education, youth secure meaningful employment, and women are safe, equal, and self-sufficient. A nation where poverty alleviation is driven by social entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, and a circular green economy, fostering long-term economic stability alongside environmental sustainability. Our Mission: At Serendip Be The Change Foundation, our mission is to accelerate community-led change. We believe that sustainable development must be driven and owned by the communities themselves. That's why every one of our programs is co-designed with the people we serve-ensuring their voices, needs, and lived experiences are at the center of every solution. We do not stand apart-we belong to the communities we work in. Our field teams are drawn from these very communities, bringing deep local knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and unwavering commitment. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Our approach is participatory, flexible, and adaptive-responding in real time to evolving needs and community feedback. Our mission is not to deliver charity, but to foster transformation that communities can sustain and lead on their own. At the heart of everything we do is a simple but powerful belief: when people are empowered to take charge of their own futures, they become the most powerful force for change. We are committed to building movements, not just projects. What we help begin, communities take forward-creating impact that lasts, far beyond our presence. That is the essence of our mission: to build a future where no one is left behind, because the people themselves have become the changemakers. Our Programs: Our programs are designed to plant the seeds of dignity and self-reliance by providing the tools and knowledge for real, lasting change-empowering children to grow their own food instead of relying on free meals, helping women build sustainable livelihoods instead of depending on handouts, and equipping youth with the skills and opportunities to rewrite their futures and lead change. Food Security & Environmental Stewardship: We promote sustainable agriculture, food security, and environmental education through school gardens and school nutrition kitchens as part of our Education Without Hunger program-enabling children and communities to grow their own food, conserve natural resources, and adopt environmentally responsible practices that support ecosystem sustainability. The children consume the organic vegetables grown in their school and home gardens-gardens they have been empowered to cultivate through the knowledge and skills we have provided. By doing so, they have become nourished, overcoming malnutrition, and achieving food security within their communities. We are also working toward integrating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into national policy, advocating for sustainability, climate action, and self-sufficiency to become core components of the education system. Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainable Livelihoods: Through the Green Empowerment Project, we equip women with skills and resources to develop ethical, sustainable livelihoods by transforming waste into wealth; -Training in sustainable social entrepreneurship: Equipping women with skills and ethical production methods. -Promoting eco-friendly, locally sourced products: Encouraging the creation of products from recycled, natural, and biodegradable materials. Examples of waste-to-wealth products: Banana fiber bags & accessories made from discarded banana tree trunks. Palmyra leaf products and other biodegradable alternatives. By promoting sustainable entrepreneurship, we empower women to generate income, achieve self-sufficiency, and contribute to a greener, more resilient economy. Empowering Women & Promoting Gender Equality: We address gender-based violence through prevention and transformation: -Prevention - Self-defense training for women to enhance confidence, safety, and empowerment. -Transformation - Educating boys on positive masculinity, consent, and respect for women to break cycles of violence and inequality. Pls note: We have developed a curriculum and are currently producing e-learning videos to scale this as an Ed-Tech module in schools. Our Founder-President has already trained over 200,000 women and 30,000 boys in Indian public schools and villages through this program, proving its effectiveness. With the necessary funding, we are prepared to implement this tried-and-tested model in Sri Lankan schools to create long-term impact. Youth Skill-Building & Employment We are launching our first Ed-Tech module in the second half of this year, focusing on spoken English with integrated environmental education. Additionally, we are exploring a partnership with a digital platform offering job-ready courses that we hope to roll out next year. With the necessary funding, we aim to provide access to these courses for outstanding students, equipping Sri Lankan youth with the relevant skills needed to secure meaningful careers and contribute to economic growth. Our Commitment: By embedding sustainability into education, livelihoods, and social systems, we create lasting impact beyond aid, ensuring every initiative leads to a stronger, self-sufficient, and resilient Sri Lanka.

Real School Goris Foundation

Real School in Goris is founded to create an informal education in Goris which will give the students the opportunity to get both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, which will be enough to enter the job market easier. Our main goal is to create a techno-park based on that educational platform. To reach this goal, we took the Real School concept and programs and we are implementing the school in Goris as a separate institution. The main mission is like the Real School mission, which can be found below: The REAL SCHOOL is providing its graduates with knowledge (theoretical and practical) and skills (professional, personal and social) to succeed in high-tech innovative industry. REAL SCHOOL is a four year collage level program that combines liberal arts in-class education and vocational off-site trainings in R&D organizations, resulting in a level of knowledge comparable to today's Bachelor level graduates of Armenian universities combined with practical skills and CV of a 1-year junior developer in modern IT/High-tech company. The main difference from classical Bachelors program is targeting professional career in the industry, rather than academic career. However it doesn't mean that the applicants are low-level technicians. Modern high-tech industry requires everyday effort in self-education (lifelong learning) due to constantly changing technologies, innovation, new fields, spheres, opportunities. The modern life is not divided into "learn" and "work" segments anymore, but is combining the work & learning process till the last day of the professional career. As a consequence, the classical approach to education (learn only) and to professional career (work only) is failing in XXI century. Our vision of XXI century high-tech organization is a combination of Research, Production and Education formats. An organization that lacks any one of these 3 components, will loose in competition to those who are doing their own innovation, that is close to their own production, and are educating their own staff by maintaining the internship logistics. Our mission is to implement such program in partnership with IT organizations in neighborhood of each RealSchool site. It includes expansion to rural areas of developing countries, helping local industry to upgrade to meet the challenges of innovative high-tech economy. The liberal arts program is following classical approach to education of a "free citizen" of a republic, i.e. provide understanding of the structure of the world, universe, civilization, economy, which is sufficient for the person to discover their mission for their life or at least for the next 7-12 years, and to develop their skills and knowledge towards fulfillment of that mission. The liberal arts program itself is built in a project-based approach. The projects used in this section of the curriculum are also real-life projects, i.e. they are not invented by professors for educational purposes but are chosen from the infrastructure projects and issues faced by the region/country/world. Examples of such projects for I and II grade students include: 1) Forest recovery, in cooperation with the Armenian Forestry Committee. Green industry projects. Reuse of materials. Effective ovens development. Effective usage of forests/wood in the industry and household. Biodegradable materials development and use in the small scale high-end production. 2) Study of ancient Armenian literature, classical Armenian language, terminology, in cooperation with prominent researchers in the field. Creation of fonts, spell-checkers, translators for modern dialects (western/eastern) of Armenian and classical Armenian. Localization of the GNU SW (Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice, Xfce4, Gimp, Inkscape, etc). 3) Study of ancient musical notation systems and body movement (dance) notation systems, development of SW for musical and ethnographic studies, in cooperation with researches from Armenian Conservatory, institute of Komitas and Armenian song and dance academy. 4) Study of environmental health control and monitoring, development of measurement kits for air, water, soil and ether (electromagnetic) pollution, performance of the measurements and publication/awareness promotion projects 5) Study of information management systems, information security challenges, development of national standards for information age, upgrade of national institutions, ministries to reduce paperwork and use modern IT solutions 6) Study of macroeconomic and microeconomic field, legislation. Development of promotion programs and lobbying for making legislation more friendly towards innovation, startup, family-business and small/medium enterprises. 7) Study of pedagogical and epistemological issues in high-tech post-modern reality, development of extracurricular and curricular studies for middle-school and high-school students. Support and further development of Armath curriculum, in cooperation with original authors of Armath curicula. Augmenting Armath with radio-frequency, electronics, mechatronics and biochemical kits. In the fields of pedagogy and epistemology - the mission is to reconsider foundations of personal training, establishment, attachment and feeling of heartbeat of the civilization, world, universe for a modern human being. From our perspective the history of the epistemology and thought is split into segments of before XIV century (primarily descriptive science), followed by the birth of analytical methods and decomposition, until hitting the ground (subatom, genome, lexical elements) in the mid XX century, and starting the third phase - the age of synthetic science (syntetic materials, synthetic life forms, synthetic languages). At the same time this switch from analytical to synthetical coincided with demographic supernova burst: for ages the population on earth was < 1B, and in XX it jumped to 7B and continues growing. As in the case of supernova - and in general - any bifurcation point - it is hard to predict what will be the next state: the dwarf, black hole, or new star. It is easier to choose desired outcome and invest resources in achieving that outcome, rather than investing in analytical efforts to predict the outcome. Fundamental reconsideration of human beings attitude towards self, towards their planet, their civilization and the universe is due to protect new generation from storm of information they are facing from their birth time, and give them instruments to categorize, prioritize and filter that information, in order to extract the core values, build goals and obtain attachment to life that was "given" in in the past to a person by the life style, and now has became a major problem for new generation, which has hard time finding challenges outside the virtual world of social networks and network games. Parents cannot solve this problem alone. The system needs to be built by the state to help them. Our goal is to provide B2G consulting and active participation in building the new formats and curricula for different age groups. Our consortium has created the Armath program under this mission, is building the Real School program, and has started building the Academic Research Hub for the academic (fundamental research) field as well. Among these, the RealSchool in mid-term has the highest impact on our future.

Education Is Freedom Foundation

Education is Freedom transform lives through education. Education is Freedom (EIF) was founded in 2002 with the creation of a dynamic board of corporate leaders who envisioned a world where every young person could pursue a college education. As business leaders, government officials and entrepreneurs, EIF’s board was and is committed to creating an educated workforce that could build effective companies and strong communities in today’s knowledge-based economy. To accomplish this, EIF first offered renewable scholarships to first-time college students. This program quickly revealed that financial support alone was insufficient to ensure college success, especially for students with other profound social or economic barriers. In 2003 EIF launched a comprehensive, local, school-based program designed to improve the college going orientation in the Dallas Independent School District (ISD). In this time, EIF has helped over 100,000 students and their families complete the college process. To further align with EIF s vision of developing a skilled and educated workforce, in 2008, EIF, along with the Mayor’s Office launched the Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program. This eight week internship program has offered over 500 high school students the opportunity to intern at some of the largest and most respected corporations and non-profit organizations in the City of Dallas.
