Pallottine Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl

Pallottine Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl (Pallotynska Fundacja Misyjna Salvatti.pl) is an NGO, based in Poland. We support social work of missionaries: kindergartens, schools, health centres, hospitals, nutritional centres, we also fund scholarships for Africans, who study in their own countries. We also organize a course for missionary volunteers, who go to the countries of Global South to help and share their experience. We help in Africa: Rwanda, D.R. Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zanzibar; Asia: India, Syria, Lebanon, Sri Lanca; South America: Colombia, Cuba, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina. The Foundation was founded in 2008. We have a long story of support different projects like building maternity in Kigali, building schools in Bivouvue, Esse in Cameroon, supporting kindergartens in Rwanda and D.R. Congo, building schools in Brobo and Ahouaukro in Ivory Coast. We organize debates on hot international social topics with famous experts like Carl Wilkens for the USA, the only American who stayed in Rwanda during the genocide, Nagy el-Khouri from Lebanon, Juan Grabois from Papal Counsel Justicia et Pax and many more. We cooperate with business to help to develop entrepreneurship among Africans. What we take care most is the education of children as we know that is an effective way to help children. In the process of helping the faith doesn't matter - we help all the people in need, regardless their faith. In Africa and India we help in education of children of all faiths. We do not ask for it. Some years ago we helped muslim village in Bosnia which suffered during the big flood. So we don't divide people according to their faith.

Boyo Social Welfare Foundation

In 2002, the Boyo Social Welfare Foundation was established by renowned Taiwanese scholar, Professor Li Jia-Tong, with the principle of "preventing underprivileged children from falling into perpetual poverty." Focusing on providing free tutoring and social work support, the foundation cultivates community tutors, develops learning materials with a focus on English, mathematics, and reading, and integrates science and programming into teaching activities. Boyo has set up 17 tutoring centers in 38 towns across Taiwan, operating approximately 210 days a year from Monday to Friday. With over 3,000 students from junior and elementary schools benefiting daily, they are guided by more than 700 local tutors towards a future free from poverty. Our commitment lies in nurturing the educational foundation of underserved children, maintaining their physical and mental well-being, eliminating environmental disadvantages, and collaborating across sectors to expand their life experiences and career perspectives. We aspire to reduce innate inequalities, ensuring rural children have ample learning resources and opportunities. Our goal is to enhance their future competitiveness, enabling them to choose their ideal careers and lifestyles, ultimately achieving true "self-reliant and poverty alleviation." Vaga Lume Association

Vaga Lume Association is a Brazilian non-profit organization founded in 2001 grounded in the belief that investing in people is the best way to transform a reality. Its mission is to create opportunities for cultural exchange by reading, writing and orality, valuing the empowerment of people and rural communities of the Brazilian Legal Amazon region. Vaga Lume works in 160 rural communities (indigenous, riverside, roadside, rural settlement people or quilombolas - Brazilian with African descent) of 23 municipalities in the Brazilian Legal Amazon region, which encompasses nine federal states (Acre, Amapa, Amazonas, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Para, Rondonia, Roraima and Tocantins), occupies 59% of the Brazilian territory and has 20 million people (12% of the Brazilian population). Despite the fact that education and culture are basic social rights, protected by the Brazilian Constitution and under human rights international treaties ratified by Brazil, its access and implementation in the Amazon region are very limited. It is one of the poverty zones in Brazil - with a GDP per capita 30% lower than the national value - where 42% of the population survives with less than US$ 5.00 a day. Due to the outstanding impact of Vaga Lume's work in the region, the organization is recognized by many international and national awards such as the Juscelino Kubitschek Award of Merit for Regional Development in Latin America and the Caribbean given by the Inter-American Development Bank (2009); the Millennium Development Goals Award, conferred by the United Nations and the Brazilian government (2005); the Vivaleitura Award, from the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education (2008); and the Chico Mendes Environment Award, given by the Ministry of Environment (2006 and 2008). In 2011, Vaga Lume received its most important recognition: the 4th place at the Intercultural Innovation Award, conferred by United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the BMW Group. As an awardee, in 2012, Vaga Lume was welcomed to the World Intercultural Facility for Innovation (WIFI), a network formed by the UNAOC, the BMW Group and the ten 2011 winners. Through this network, the UNAOC and the BMW Group challenged all winners to replicate and scale up their actions to promote intercultural dialogue and offered training, consultancy and institutional support to assist organizations to accomplish such results.

International Education Network dba Palliative Care Network

Mission: Palliative Care Network is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of patients who are combating serious illnesses through open access education for professionals worldwide. Vision: Palliative Care for Everyone, Everywhere Chronic diseases are the leading cause of mortality in the world, representing 60% of all deaths. 35 million people died from chronic disease in 2005. These include heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. 80% of chronic disease deaths occur in low and middle income countries (1). Healthcare professionals lack appropriate training to care for patients as a "whole" and, in particular, fall short in skills to care for patients with diseases with poor prognosis. Quite often, patients receive poor end-of-life care, even in societies with technologically advanced healthcare. Ultimately, patients experience unnecessary pain and suffering during treatment of disease and at the end-of-life. Palliative Care Network (PCN) aims to address pain and suffering more effectively through education. PCN provides a FREE, online, educational platform for palliative care professionals. Registration on the website and access to materials remains free of charge allowing those who have limitations to remain abreast of palliative care trends. Expert interviews, lectures, presentations, posters, etc. are voluntarily shared on the PCN Community. Participants from Harvard share the same platform with palliative care providers from developing countries in Africa, landlocked Nepal and Mongolia, etc. PCN evens out the platform for palliative care professionals worldwide. The multiple projects initiated by PCN not only help the professional community in assisting patients and their families but allow palliative care providers to encourage each other. The PCN Directory lists professionals from around the globe interested in collaborating to exchange knowledge and information. For example, using the PCN Directory, an Indian physician connected with an American social worker to share cultural issues, myths, and norms about palliative care, grief, and loss. Additional success stories include collaborations with a professor of sociology, nurse, and a producer/director.

Humans in the Loop

Humans in the Loop is a hybrid between a non-profit foundation and a for-profit social enterprise which has been working for the past 6 years towards the inclusion of refugees and conflict-affected people in the AI supply chain, as well as in the digital work field, through upskilling and paid remote work opportunities. Our shared mission is to provide a diverse group of conflict-affected and displaced people with access to career development support, upskilling, and remote work opportunities to train and monitor AI systems. We are active across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, and our work related opportunities are primarily focused on communities affected by armed conflict and are distributed with priority to countries where other remote online job opportunities are unavailable as for example Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon. In our additional partner countries Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova, and the DRC, with upcoming pilots in Kenya and Uganda, we concentrate on upskilling opportunities, equipping people with freelance related skills and then further supporting them in applying for remote work on platforms such as UpWork through our Mictrofreelancing self-paced course. Our foundation has its own training platform where we conduct trainings in English, Digital Skills, as well as data annotation skills and remote work, and everything is available online. We have developed our own proprietary modules on topics such as bias in AI and ethical AI, Cybersecurity when working online, and data annotation techniques, as well as professional courses which are either instructor-led or self-paced on topics such as Digital Marketing, Intro to Programming, Intro to Graphic Design, or Intro to Business Analytics. To date, more than 500 individuals have completed courses on our platform. Now, we want to develop our course offerings further by developing new courses on generative AI skills and real-time monitoring of AI systems, performing red team testing on AI systems, and providing feedback for reinforcement learning. Many of our trainees are already working for our social enterprise as data annotators, working on projects related to image labelling, data collection, and real-time monitoring and edge case handling of AI systems. To date, we have provided paid remote employment to more than 1,100 people. Our goal is to ensure that they progress further in their careers in the AI field and to provide them with opportunities to access further employment on freelancing platforms, or with other employers. We have partnered before with Upwork's "Opportunity Unlimited" program in order to introduce them to online freelancing, and we also have a small-scale career counselling program. Now, our goal is to expand these career development programs in order to help our graduates join the workforce of the future and contribute to making AI systems more inclusive and mitigate harmful biases.

St. George's Society of New York

One of the oldest charitable organizations in New York, St. George's Society (named after the patron saint of England) was founded by Englishmen living in New York in 1770 to celebrate St. George's Day and to assist fellow countrymen in need or distress. Over the years, SGS's assistance has taken a variety of forms: a bag of coal or a voucher to a woodpile to keep a family warm during the winter months; free ship passage on the White Star line back to England when the "American dream" did not work out for a spinster in 1898; a free hospital bed at St. Luke's Hospital for the ill (the average stay in 1927 was one month); a pawn ticket paid to retrieve a winter coat in 1904; assistance for "British War Brides" who found themselves in need upon their arrival in the United States in the 1940s and 1950s. Today, SGS has two main areas of philanthropic endeavor, a Beneficiary Program to assist disadvantaged New Yorkers of British and Commonwealth heritage, specifically the elderly, disabled and others in crisis; and a Scholarship Program for promising students enrolled at Lehman College, part of City University of New York (CUNY), in the Bronx. While the assistance SGS provides has changed over time, the purpose has remained the same - to help those who cannot help themselves. Since its founding 242 years ago, we have aided thousands of British and Commonwealth persons while striving to fulfill our mission statement: "Let mercy be our boast and shame our only fear." As a result of this unique record of charity, SGS has a close working relationship with the British Consulate-General in New York and for over a century each serving Consul-General has been SGS's Honorary President. His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester became SGS's Royal Patron in 2000. He takes an active interest in our work and has met several SGS scholars and beneficiaries on official visits to New York. SGS was also honored in 2000 with armorial bearings by the College of Arms in London, acting under the authority of the British Crown, to recognize the charity's long and respected history of aiding British and Commonwealth subjects in New York.

Bududa Canada Foundation

Bududa Learning Center is an umbrella organization that includes a vocational high school, an orphans program for children, and a microfinance program for women. It is located in the isolated mountain district of eastern Uganda. It was founded by Canadian-born Barbara Wybar, who has been living on site a portion of each year for the past 14 years. This isolated region, one of the poorest in Uganda, is over-populated with most families having an average of 8 children. They live by growing their own food. Most of the region has no running water or electricity. Both the education and health care system are severely under-funded and inadequate. Jobs are scarce. Most people are hungry most of the time. How & Who We Help. We work to address the problems in three ways: 1. Training young people in basic trades: carpentry; brick-laying; dress-making and tailoring; nursery teacher training; computer skills training; and hairdressing training. 2. Providing broad support to 170 children and young people, many of them orphans from AIDS, by providing education enrichment, food, and health care. 3. Training and providing micro finance loans to single mothers and grandmothers in the region who are bringing up children on their own and have no means of support, so they can start small businesses. How It Is Run The Center is staffed by Ugandans working in a professional capacity. Barbara Wybar acts as Executive Director and works in a volunteer capacity. There is a growing volunteer contingent of people from the west who visit and do volunteer work there and others who take on management and administrative work in Canada and the US in a volunteer capacity. A guest house and annex provide housing for up to 12 visiting volunteers at a time. Local Oversight A local Advisory Board of the Center, led by Father Paul Buyela, provides oversight to the headmaster of the school and the directors of the two other programs. It is made up of representatives of the teachers, the parents, the regional education board, and the community as well as the executive director. The chairman is a highly respected educator as well as clerical leader in the region at large. Governance and Financial Support Bududa Canada Foundation provides governance to the Center and raises funds from individuals, foundations, and organizations to support the Center. It is incorporated in Canada holds charitable status from the Canadian Revenue Authority (#82535 8286 RR0001). There is a board directors of five people, three of whom are Canadian and two American. Financial support comes from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. New Agriculture New Generation Non Profit Civil Law Company

"New Agriculture New Generation" is a non-profit organization, which aims to create career and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth in the Agrifood sector in Greece. The organization was founded in 2018 under the initiative and with the founding support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) as part of its "Recharging The Youth" program. The initiative started in 2018, led by Rutgers University (the state university of New Jersey), in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens and the American College of Agriculture. In October 2020, the initiative evolved into a Non-profit Civil Law Company based in Greece, expanding its activities and partner network while maintaining close collaboration with Rutgers University which is our strategic and technical advisor. We are a catalyst for innovation in the Agrifood ecosystem in Greece. We enable empowerment of youth and support the revitalization of the sector through. We build capacity, expand advisory networks, nurture innovation, support business development, and encourage collaboration and dialogue through programs and initiatives which focus on four major pillars: 1. Workforce Development, 2. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support, 3. Rural Development (Programs restarting agricultural economy in disaster-stricken areas and stimulating regional development), 4. Strategic Initiatives (Initiatives addressing and mitigating climate change effects on the agrifood sector). We have built a wide network of partners, embracing the entire ecosystem of knowledge, entrepreneurship, and innovation across the agrifood sector in Greece. Furthermore, we work closely with all the Greek Academic Institutions and Research Centers, institutional, public, and private bodies. Our dynamic role in the agrifood ecosystem is acknowledged through our participation in several advisory groups to the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, as well as in relevant working groups and committees of the Hellenic-American and the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Since 2018, we have empowered more than 29.600 young farmers, producers, entrepreneurs, graduates and other professionals, through our capacity building, entrepreneurship, and regional development programs as well as through natural disaster relief initiatives (Fire relief initiative for Northern Evia, Initiative to support the stock farmers of Karditsa, affected by Cyclone Ianos). We have implemented more than 50 capacity building programs and we have supported more than 100 SMEs, family and start - up businesses and cottage industries, and over 300 professional trainers, mentors and advisors. Our socioeconomic and environmental impact: 94% of our beneficiaries have improved their existing farming and technical processes, more than 44% of our beneficiaries have invested in the development of new products and services, more than 36% of businessowners/self-employed beneficiaries reduced their environmental footprint, 16.8 million is the total value created from our operations and 10.9 million created from our beneficiaries in the Greek economy. Our estimated economic leverage effect in the real economy is x3.6 (for each 1 euro spent by the organization, 3.6 is generated in the Greek economy). Furthermore, our organization has adopted 13 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while our activities are aligned with ESG criteria. Also, NANG was represented in the "Workshop on Young entrepreneurs - Engines of innovation in rural areas" in Dublin. 2. Selected among the top 30 non-profit organizations in 10 countries to collaborate with 3M / PYXERA Global within the 3M Global Impact Program, for "Integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles with the strategic vision and operational sustainability of NANG"; 3. Selected for collaboration in 2023 with the Iraq-based, newly established MERG Foundation, implementing women empowerment programs focused in rural areas of Iraqi Kurdistan; 4. Acknowledged for its impactful work in Greece by the General Fisheries Commission of the Mediterranean (GFCM), Food and Agriculture Organization, United Nations (FAO), and invited to attend the International Workshop on Algae Cultivation and Innovation in Saudi Arabia; 5. Ikirwa School Project

From Articles of Incorporation "Ikirwa School Project is a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed but not limited to the establishment, operation, and expansion of the Ikirwa English Medium School located in the rural village of Midawe near the town of Arusha, Republic of Tanzania. Activities included but not limited to the following: fund-raising and donation acceptance, recruitment of paid and volunteer labor, capital planning and expenditures, marketing, and maintenance for the benefit of the Ikirwa school." About Ikirwa School: The idea for this project was born during a camp-fire conversation between a Tanzanian guide and a Russian-American tourist. Gasper had a dream to build a school in his home village of Midawe to give local children access to English-language education and significantly improve their future academic and employment opportunities. After spending close to a decade managing World Bank capital, Masha was looking for a way to make a tangible contribution to development. Finally, America Educates, our NGO partner and fiscal sponsor, was looking for an education project in Africa. And so Ikirwa School Project was born. We are taking a multi-phase approach to building and establishing this school, starting with kindergarten classes and organically growing the school into a single-stream education program for up to 300 students. Tanzanian students are taught in Swahili and learn English as a second language. However, English has become a language of both commerce and higher learning, limiting the prospects of government school graduates, especially those who are unable to afford remedial language instruction, which is often needed to become proficient in English. Our project's goal is to provide the option of English language instruction to the children of Midawe and nearby villages. We will leverage resources offered by many volunteer organizations and the NGOs in both providing instruction and education materials to offer world-class quality academic instruction to the students as well as career development opportunities for the teachers. Our goal is to ensure that all our students score in the top quartile of the TOEFL test at the time of graduation and the Tanzanian instructors within 2 years of joining the staff. The seed funds for the project are coming from its founders, with Gasper contributing a plot of family land for school construction and Masha financing Phase I of construction. Students will be charged tuition and boarding fees and those funds are expected to eventually cover the majority of the operating budget. Up to 20% of spots will be allocated for underprivileged children of Midawe. The architectural plan calls for construction of 13 classrooms, 4 dormitories, offices, staff quarters, dining hall and kitchen, library and assembly hall in four phases. We have completed Phase I of the project, consisting of 4 classrooms and 2 offices. On January 7, 2013 Ikirwa School open its doors to 38 kindergarten and 1st grade students and has successfully completed its first semester on March 27th. Based on the feedback we have recevied during Parent's Day, the families are thrilled to have their children in our program and are impressed by the progress they are seeing. Our vision is to build a small school that makes a big difference and stands on its own without depending on outside donors for day to day operations. We intend to grow organically and pragmatically, building a track record and using our success to attract donor funds for capital improvements.

Who We Are: The need for a grassroots organization that would galvanize communities across Africa to positively contribute towards sustainable management of natural resources was an idea born out of a discussion by a group of environment and natural resource management practitioners gathered in Arusha Tanzania in 2010. The idea was subsequently shared with other like-minded individuals and culminated in the formation and subsequent registration of Africa Nature Organization as Non-Governmental Organization on the World Wetlands Day 2nd February 2012 in Kenya. Our focus has been to promote sustainable environmental and natural resource management best practices among grassroots communities working closely with civil society organizations, private sector actors and Government. Our Vision: A well-managed environment and natural resource base benefiting People and Wildlife. Our Mission: To enhance sustainable management of environment and natural resources by empowering grassroots communities, supporting development of effective natural resource management instruments, promotion of green innovations and the advancement of wise-use practices. Programmes: Our work is organized around three themes. These are conservation, people's organizations and livelihoods. 1. Environmental Education and Awareness Sustained environmental education and awareness campaigns have been known to change the behavior and attitudes of stakeholders towards environment and natural resources. Africa Nature Organization environmental education and awareness campaigns target both the young and the old through targeted campaigns such as the Young People4Nature Initiative, environmental demonstrations, environmental days, cross-site visits, workshops and seminars are some of the activities in this category. 2. Conservation of Species and Habitats With the threat of species extinction and habitat loss aggravated by climate change, Africa Nature Organization has taken a special interest in the conservation of species and habitats through rehabilitation, restoration and protection. Afforestation on terrestrial areas, coral transplant in marine ecosystems, dyke construction, development of management plans, support for community guards to protect and monitor species and habitats are some of the activities undertaken to reduce species and habitat loss. 3. Enterprise-led Conservation (ECO) Communities for ages have depended on natural resources for their livelihoods. However, with dwindling natural resource base due to extraction of natural resources for commercial purposes, population increase and climate changes, communities have trapped in a vicious cycle of destroying environment and natural resources for survival. To stem this downward spiral, Africa Nature Organization works with grassroots communities to empower them with business skills and knowledge to initiate nature-friendly enterprises and link them with markets. 4. Research and Innovation for Conservation (RI-Conserve): Relevant information to undertake important decisions regarding natural resources has been an impediment to sustainable management of environment and natural resources. This has been more profound with grassroots communities and organizations, including government, working to empower them to sustainably manage environment and natural resources. To bridge the information gap, Africa Nature Organization undertakes research and develops innovative ways of overcoming environmental challenges facing communities, civil society organizations, private organizations and governments. Baseline surveys, environmental impact assessments, documentation of indigenous knowledge on biological resources, and innovative mobile technology for conservation are some of the activities undertaken in this category. 5. Conservation Communication (COCO): Communicating conservation information to relevant stakeholders is key in to their engagement and involvement in our conservation effort. Conservation Communication maintains stakeholder interest through: Newsletter, Development and distribution of environmental documentaries, Production of other education, information and communication materials.

C-Libre was established in June 2001, after a series of violations of freedom of expression and the right to information that culminated in the dismissal of several independent journalists, which led to a complaint by the country before the Office of the Special Rapporteur for Freedom. of Expression of the Organization of American States (OAS), a body that responded by calling attention to the worrying situation of the Honduran press. This documented and formal complaint is the antecedent to the annual reports that would later make known the work of the organization. We advocate for the defense and promotion of the right to freedom of expression and access to information as fundamental rights for the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law. C-Libre is a human rights organization that advocates for the defense and promotion of the right to freedom of expression and access to information in Honduras, as fundamental rights for the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law. C-Libre was created as a response to the concerns shared by a group of journalists when public and private power sectors promoted policies and mechanisms that threatened the professional practice of journalists and violated the constitutional precepts that guarantee the free emission of thought. In the last 10 years, the creation and implementation of regulations that restrict the dissemination and access to information has been increasing, since the approval of the Special Law on the Intervention of Private Communications "Law of Wiretapping", passing through "Law of Secrets "," Law of the National Security and Defense Council "and the" Intelligence Law "among a myriad of information reservation resolutions that contravene the Law of Transparency and Access to Public Information, the instruments and international agreements on transparency and accountability, the Honduran government has accumulated a legal framework that legitimizes and legalizes the culture of secrecy and state opacity, opening the possibility of increasing levels of corruption and impunity, mainly of public officials and employees. The technical team is made up of specialists in various areas of knowledge, mainly communication, social, legal and administrative sciences. Likewise, there is the collaboration of volunteers at the national level, who carry out work within the organization as columnists, reporters, compilers among others. Its function is through 4 programmatic areas : Communications, Access to Justice, Knowledge Management and Self-sustainability, which interact to execute the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan. Currently, C-Libre has 10 people who make up the organization who work full time. The direction of the organization is mainly in charge of the Executive Directorate, who must work together with the President of the Board of Directors. The organization's performance is supervised by the Board of Directors, and this responsibility falls much more strongly on the President and the Supervisory Board, made up of the Treasury and 2 more members of the Board of Directors. Annual reports are submitted to the Board of Directors and the Assembly of the organization, financial and technical reports that are also sent to the pertinent government bodies. In addition, once a week the technical team meets to plan the week's activities, as well as discuss topics of interest to the organization, annually the assembly and the board of directors meet to render annual reports and every 2 years for the election. of a new Board of Directors.

KOLKATA SANVED

Our two fold mission: To harness the power of dance and dance movement therapy to heal, empower and transform individuals into active citizens and change makers. To build the ecosystem for DMT for Change across Asia and create leaders and changemakers in the field, especially from underprivileged communities. KS's work addresses three Sustainable Development Goals: Gender Equality, Eradication of Poverty and Good Health and Well Being.The core of KS's work takes place in community settings. This consists of the conducting of Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) sessions for survivors of trafficking, survivors of sexual violence, people with mental illnesses and other marginalized communities. The NGO has created a unique, culturally contextualized module of DMT known as Sampoornata (fulfillment). KS's DMT-for-change model redefines a survivor's relationship with her/his body and helps her/him to overcome trauma, guilt, and shame. Sampoornata is designed to be a vehicle for empowerment: DMT process enables them to form a vision for their life and live with confidence and positivity. Along with this KS has developed its dance based module on sexual and reproductive health and rights that aims to install positive gender relations amongst adolescents. In this way, KS is contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal of Gender Equality. Women and girl children are empowered to overcome social stigma and restrictions and make independent choices. By encouraging women and girl children to seek employment, KS contributes to the Sustainable Development Goal of eradicating poverty. Another way in which the NGO contributes to this goal is through its 'childhood to livelihood approach'. Through this approach, individuals who have gone through the DMT process and who want to take it up as a profession go through a two-year Training of Trainers (TOT) programmed, after which they can be employed as Dance Movement Therapy practitioners. In this sense, they use the arts for economic progress. Additionally, the participants of the TOT programme go through capacity building, from which they get a range of skills that enable them to be employed in various other jobs. Most importantly, the TOT programme creates a new set of change makers from amongst the community. KS contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well Being, not only by helping individuals overcome their trauma but also by working in community, institutional care and Health Care Settings. KS conducts DMT in marginalized communities, mental hospitals for people living with mental illnesses. . The activities and aims of the DMT sessions are specially modified to suit the clients. Sampoornata has contributed greatly to developing services that help expand our understanding of mental health and aid in the development of cost effective, sustainable services that are less intrusive and easy to replicate across populations. WORKING POPULATION: Kolkata Sanved believes that everyone has the right to live a life of dignity. Often there are many structural barriers that deprive marginalized communities of this basic entitlement. Therefore Kolkata Sanved aims to reach out to these communities to ensure their rights. This includes Working with children, youth and adolescence: Childhood is a period with potential the potential to influence developmental outcomes. KS work's work with young people include helping them optimal development outcomes. KS works with all categories of young people. Its general well being program is aimed at children in general whereas its direct intervention programs are aimed at children who are at risk. Groups falling within this category are 1. Children and youth living in: Red light areas Railway platforms Rural and urban slums Government and NGO-run shelter homes Children in conflict with Law School children 2. Working with survivors of trafficking exploitation and violence: Most survivors of violence undergo intense trauma, KS helps to empower survivors through their trauma based interventions so they can reclaim their lives. This works on fulfilling the goals of gender equity and good health and well being. In lieu of their work KS found that a lot of violence happens in the context of gender based discrimination. For this purpose KS launched the module on sexual and reproductive health and rights that enables adolescents to work towards the goal of gender equity. This unique model uses dance as a tool of education and awareness. 3. People living with mental illness (PLMI): KS works with people living with mental illness to help in the process of their recovery. Through its general well being program KS ensures PLMI are able to gain the life skills necessary for reintegration. 4. Secondary stakeholders and beneficiaries include, care providers, academy participants, researchers and stakeholders within the government sector. KS also reaches out to other civil society members through campaign.
