The Lung Association, Manitoba is a member of the Canadian Lung Association, which has been working to improve the lung health of Canadians for over 100 years. We are a non-profit, registered health organization that relies on donations from the public to fund our activities. We are the premier source of lung health information and initiatives in Manitoba. Our efforts are focused on lung disease education & management, tobacco cessation & prevention, improved air quality & environment, tuberculosis and occupational health services. For over 65 years The Alberta Safety Council (ASC) has been a leader in ‘Making Alberta a Safer Place to Live, Work and Play,’ by offering the most current, cutting edge safety training services, educational materials and safety support to communities across Alberta. Since our inception, we estimate that over 1 million Albertans have been touched by one of our programs. As a self-sustaining charitable organization, the ASC relies on the revenue generated through our programs, services, memberships, as well as the donations and goodwill support from volunteers, individuals, corporations and community partners. But safety comes at a price. Each year, the ASC must turn away thousands seeking safety training and education due to lack of available training space. We must expand our programs and services or run the risk of injury. With your support and a donation, you can ensure that all Albertans stay safe by receiving the necessary training and education to do just that.

The College offers the Master of Divinity Degree, preparing students for Ministry in the Presbyterian Church in Canada and other Christian Churches in and outside of Canada. We also offer part time Certificate Courses in collaboration with our partners in the Montreal School of Theology. Through our Leadership Center we offer a Continuing Education intensive, a Mentoring Program, and Young Adults Event We collaborate with several partners to host conferences and other events on various topics related to the mission of the College.

At Havergal, we prepare young women not only to succeed in the 21st century, but to make a difference in their chosen pursuits by enabling each girl to develop her full intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical potential.

Founded in 1948 as the St Catharines Civic Orchestra by Jan Wolanek, the Niagara Symphony was initially a community orchestra; its governing body assumed the name St. Catharines Symphony Association in 1963 and changed it in 1978 to the Niagara Symphony Association to reflect increased regional responsibilities. Now a 52-piece professional orchestra, the Niagara Symphony operates under a collective agreement with Local 298 of the AF of M. It is a professional music resource serving all communities in the Niagara Region. Each season includes four Masterworks programs and four POPS programs - 12 concerts each year. The Symphony delivers programs, performances and musical services at the highest possible professional level, serving the musical needs and expectations of the Region's residents and visitors. Through its outstanding contribution to the cultural ecology of the Niagara Region, the Niagara Symphony is an example of what makes Niagara a great place in which to live.

The Peterborough Humane Society, a registered charitable organization dependent on public donations, was established in 1941. As an Affiliated Society of the OSPCA, with the mandate to facilitate and provide for the prevention of cruelty to animals and their relief therefrom, our Humane Society offers a wide range of vital services to the community. Working in cooperation with many agencies and departments we continue promoting responsible pet ownership concepts through community outreach, one-on-one encounters with residents and the use of legal action as the last resort. Approximately 1,500 animals are received at the shelter each year, many of which are lost, injured or abandoned. While in our care they are provided with food, care, shelter and lots of love and attention. We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. The Peterborough Humane Society is grateful to our supporters, staff, and volunteers for their wonderful support and dedication.

The Edmonton Community Foundation connects passionate donors to charitable organizations delivering programs and services that enhance the quality of life in the communities in which we live, learn, work and play. The Foundation invests donor contributions in perpetuity, creating legacies that positively impact our lives in the areas of the arts and culture, health and wellness, community and social services, education and learning, recreation and the environment. Grants are distributed in a way that is flexible, creative and responsive. We respond to the wishes of our donors as well as the needs and opportunities in our community; together we develop strategic priorities towards lasting solutions.

The Society operates the Seymour River Fish Hatchery and Education Centre which is located on the Seymour River just below the Seymour Falls Dam in North Vancouver, BC. In 1961, the construction of the Seymour Falls Dam removed access to 60% of the river from migrating salmon but more importantly has also resulted in the loss of 90% of the original spawning habitat. To mitigate this effect, the Society has been instrumental in the creation of new spawning, wintering and rearing habitat along much of the lower river. The Society supplements Seymour stocks of fish through rearing and releasing Steelhead Trout, Coho, Chum, Chinook and Pink salmon. Since 2005, we have been especially involved in research projects involving radio tracking adult Steelhead and looking at early marine survival of Steelhead smolts that are migrating to the ocean.

The Group of 78 is an association of Canadians committed to leadership in the promotion of global stewardship: a Canadian foreign policy based on the pursuit of peace, justice and global survival. The Group began in 1980 when several concerned and distinguished Canadians crafted a statement on how Canada could contribute to the building of a peaceful, secure world. In November 1981 that statement, Canadian Foreign Policy in the 80s, was sent to Prime Minister Trudeau. It was signed by 78 Canadians – a group of 78. The statement set out three inter-related objectives. In summary: • removal of the threat of nuclear war • mobilization of resources to achieve a more equitable international order • strengthening and reform of the United Nations and other global institutions
