Started in 2001 by Artistic Directors Nancy Dahn and Timothy Steeves, Tuckamore Festival brings talented young artists and composers from across Canada and beyond to our province to practice, study, and perform. Faculty artists mentor young musicians and composers throughout a two-week mid-summer program. Outstanding guest artists from around the world arrive in St. John’s to coach these aspiring musicians and to present a superb concert series for music lovers.

The Ottawa River Institute (ORI) is an incorporated, charitable organization based in the Ottawa Valley. ORI’s mission is to foster sustainable communities and ecological integrity in the Ottawa River watershed. Since incorporation in 2001 we've been working to: -Promote and support the wise use of resources -Increase understanding of the ecosystems within our watershed -Enhance appreciation of the Ottawa River watershed as a natural and cultural treasure -Create opportunities for watershed residents to celebrate and be nurtured by the natural beauty around us

The Sharing Farm grows food to feed Richmond families in need. The Farm is run by community members for community members, and is dedicated to providing fresh, healthy, local produce to our less fortunate neighbours. The Sharing Farm operates on a tiny budget, but thanks to the generosity of our over 1,000 yearly volunteers and the devotion of a small core of part-time staff, the Farm is able to provide thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables every year to community meals throughout the city and the Richmond Food Bank. From a beginning involving collecting surplus fruit to give to the Richmond Food Bank, through growing vegetables on a small scale on donated land, The Sharing Farm Society now cultivates 5 acres between the Farm in Terra Nova Rural Park and our Orchard in south Richmond.

The Glenn Gould Foundation will, in the spirit of Glenn Gould, inspire, support and celebrate artistic endeavour by globally implementing the Mission.

The Lakehead Learning Foundation was created in 2003 as an independent, charitable foundation dedicated to raising funds for Lakehead Public Schools students. Funds raised through the Foundation have been directed to graduating secondary students in the form of scholarships and to help fund the Grade 8 Awards of Excellence. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised funds through donations – Celebrations of Life (In Memory) and through an annual golf tournament.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers who formed a non-profit organization to further the understanding and awareness of dyslexia, and the alternatives for coping with the challenges it can cause in society today. We are unique in supporting approaches that reach the cause of the challenges, knowing that if the reason for the challenges is removed, the challenge ceases to exist. We know that everyone has an innate love of learning and that if that learning style is honoured and nurtured; individuals will discover their talents, become empowered, and confident.

NorQuest College is Edmonton’s community college and Alberta’s largest, serving 8,500 students annually throughout the province in full-time, part-time, distance learning and regional programs. As a regional steward, we provide access to adult education in Edmonton and the surrounding region for 23 communities NorQuest College helps learners with diverse educational backgrounds complete or further their studies through foundational and continuing education programs. Our post-secondary diploma and certificate programs offer career paths in health, community studies and business. We also provide educational opportunities at the times, places and delivery formats that best meet our learners’ needs. By collaborating with business, industry, government and communities, we ensure our post-secondary education is necessary and workforce relevant. With 95% of NorQuest College graduates employed or enrolled in further education, we contribute significantly to Alberta’s growing economy.

Since its founding in 1988, CMSF has become the leading independent granting agency for undergraduate study in Canada. Over time, it has developed a collaborative relationship with 25 universities across Canada, each of which provide tuition grants and on-campus advisers for Loran scholars (known as CMSF National Scholars until 2007). Even though the first class of Loran scholars graduated from university in 1994, Loran scholars have already carved out distinguished careers both in Canada and abroad.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SOCRATES FOUNDATION The initiative to create an Educational Foundation was the brain child of a group of parents who filed an application with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for the purpose of creating a non-profit charitable organization. In filing their application, their objective was to strive to raise funds for the purpose of providing financial support for the advancement and/or enrichment of trilingual (French, Greek & English) education in Canada.The path of navigating a request through Charities Canada proved to be a long and difficult undertaking.With financial contributions received from different individuals, the final obstacles were overcome and after four long years the “Socrates Educational Foundation” (SEF) obtained its charitable operations number, effective August 1, 2003.

The Military Museums is dedicated to representing Canada's navy, army, and air force and educating the public, particularly youth, about Canada's military.

With a dedicated Board of Managers, a membership of hardworking individuals and the support of the community, Gallery in the Grove strives to move forward into the future with excellence. Nestled among a grove of towering trees in Wildwood Park is the historic and stately Faethorne House built in 1875. In 1980, a small group of people interested in establishing an art gallery were given permission to use part of the property and it became Gallery in the Grove on the upper floor of the building. The Bright's Grove Library occupies the lower floor. Gallery in the Grove is a non-profit organization operated solely by volunteers.
