The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1994 to rescue, rehabilitate, care for and find homes for homeless dogs, including dogs from animal shelters, puppy mills, strays, and victims of foreclosures and hospice situations. Dogs remain at the Sanctuary until they find a home, no matter how long it takes.
Our mission is to celebrate the Petaluma Watershed through education and stewardship; because every great River needs a true Friend. Our Goals: Access, Education, and Conservation -To pursue outreach and educational activities that will nurture enthusiasm and commitment in the watershed for long term sustainable stewardship. -To monitor conditions and engage in activities that will reduce or prevent pollution and lessen other harmful impacts on the River and its wetlands. -To foster a River Heritage Center as a community resource. The Umkhumbane Schools Project is an innovative partnership with and among the five secondary schools in the historic Cato Manor township area near Durban, South Africa. With a specific focus on mathematics and science, we are working to improve academic outcomes and enhance access to tertiary education in a disadvantaged community full of vitality and promise. Our approach models an innovative NGO-schools partnership that can be replicated in other disadvantaged settings.
Founded in 1992, Friends of the Presumpscot River is a non-profit organization, supported primarily by membership dues and small donations. Their mission is to protect and improve the water quality, indigenous fisheries, recreational opportunities, and natural character of the Presumpscot River.
The sole purpose of the Blaisdell Lake Protective Association continues be: - The preservation of the dam through operating and maintenance procedures accepted by, and periodically inspected by, the State of New Hampshire's Department of Environmental Services. - The monitoring of the water quality of Blaisdell Lake through a testing program administered by the State of New Hampshire's Department of Environmental Services. - The monitoring of safe boating practices through a volunteer boating safety inspection program administered and enforced by the State of New Hampshire's Department of Safety.

FRIENDS OF THE FRELINGHUYSEN ARBORETUM (A NEW JERSEY NONPROFIT CORPORATION) WAS INCORPORATED IN 1973 AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO ASSIST THE MORRIS COUNTY PARK COMMISSION IN DEVELOPING ITS HORTICULTURE FACILITIES, TO STIMULATE PUBLIC AWARENESS AND INTEREST IN THESE FACILITIES, ASSIST THE COMMISSION IN THE FORMATION OF AN OUTSTANDING HORTICULTURE LIBRARY AND SPONSOR PROJECTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT WILL PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE PUBLIC TO EXPAND ITS KNOWLEDGE OF HORTICULTURE AND THE NATURAL WORLD.
