Future prospects for thousands of less-fortunate Canadian youth look brighter, thanks to RCMP Foundation support of programs implemented by local community groups and the ongoing voluntarily services of RCMP members throughout our Nation. These programs create awareness and prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, bullying, violence and suicide and are complemented by the development of like skills, self-esteem and confidence, all tools to help fulfill the desire for a better life for Canada's youth at-risk.

THE VAD Foundation is a U.S. based nonprofit organization working to increase access to quality education in South Sudan through sustainable initiatives. After the publication of What Is The What, a novelized account of the life of Valentino Achak Deng, Valentino and author Dave Eggers established the VAD Foundation to help rebuild South Sudanese communities by building schools and establishing community development programs. The VAD Foundation operates two schools, Marial Bai Secondary School and Alok Girls' Academy, which have become flagship models for holistic education in the region by incorporating sustainable agriculture, vocational training, and gender equality into every aspect of the curriculum.
