13thirty Cancer Connect is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 2001 following the death of Melissa Sengbusch who was 19 years old when she died of acute myeloid leukemia. Since its beginning (first called Melissa’s Living Legacy Teen Cancer Foundation), 13thirty has become an internationally known and respected leader in the field of adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer because of our strong passion, clear vision, and steadfast commitment to a singular focus – teens and young adults with cancer. Unlike many other cancer support organizations, we concentrate our efforts and resources on a targeted national problem that affects approximately 90,000 young people in the United States each year. As Melissa asked of her mom, we are making a difference. We are making things better for teens and young adults with cancer around the world. The MISSION of 13thirty Cancer Connect, Inc. is to help adolescents and young adults (AYAs) impacted by cancer live their very best lives – today! Our resources help AYAs enhance their coping skills and self-esteem by building satisfying peer connections, learning to self-advocate, and developing effective self-management tools for long-term health. A comprehensive continuum of support (from diagnosis and treatment to healthy survivorship or if necessary, end-of-life) helps AYAs with cancer successfully transition through each stage of their cancer experience. We advocate strongly for improved delivery of medical and educational services through clinician education initiatives and outreach to schools and universities. Together with our strategic partners, we work to increase access to age-appropriate care for all AYA patients and survivors with concentrated focus on improving survivorship (early detection, health maintenance and follow-up care).

We are a faith based non-profit 501-(c)3 ministry of FARRR Foundation, and a Trauma Informed Care organization serving communities since 2008. Our mission is to show the Love of Christ to others by serving in practical ways, and provide a dignified environment for spiritual growth. We aim to educate our communities about the impact of trauma on clients, coworkers, friends, family, and even ourselves. Understanding the impact of trauma is an important first step in becoming a compassionate and supportive community. We currently provide a range of wrap around supportive services; such as: * Open daily as a Day Shelter w/ a Clothing Closet * Coffee Bar with light snacks and water * Daily Devotions & Christian Nurture * Hot Buffet Lunch * Bi-weekly Food Pantry and haircuts are provided for free from a professional cosmetologist. * Bikes for Individuals w/ Transportation Needs * Prison Ministry * Facilitating Resources for Ex-Offenders * Workforce Development ALSO.... * FREEDOM CELEBRATION: The 2nd Tuesday at 7:00pm, dinner is provided for individuals and/or family members that have been affected by incarceration. * LIGHT CHANGE TOKENS: A cooperative effort of Warm Streets and Church of the Good Shepherd designed to meet some of the basic needs of the most vulnerable among us (i.e. homeless and nearly homeless). Compassionate donors sponsor tokens that can be spent as spare change at local businesses and restaurants. * THE REDEMPTION GROUP: Every Wednesday at 6:30pm, faith-based support group for individuals with hurts, habits, hang-ups and addictions. *50 SHADES OF RED, EVERY WOMAN HAS A STORY: Women’s ministry that encourages, empowers, and embraces women in healing and restoration. * LIGHTHOUSE COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP: Sundays from 10:00 am – 12:30pm, we gather like the early church for worship, fellowship, sharing testimonies along with learning from the Word of God. Lunch is served after fellowship. * LIGHTHOUSE KIDS: Cooperative Kids Ministry with other churches and non-profits that host planned events throughout the week for students, ages 5 – 15 encompassing a Christ-centered curriculum. * ABIGAIL HOUSE: Anti-Human Trafficking Ministry of The Lighthouse, Abigail House is the only transitional housing facility for women in rescue in the region. It serves women that have been victims of sex trafficking.

The Mammogram Poster Girls' mission is to raise awareness and funds for the early detection of breast cancer. Funding screening mammograms for those in need.

FUND RAISING FOR CANCER ORGANIZATION

The mission of The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation is to aggressively fund research to accelerate the development of improved therapies, and ultimately find a cure for desmoid tumors. We collaborate with dedicated researchers and clinicians worldwide to improve the lives of patients through education, awareness and support.

Raise funds for Sarcoma Cancer Research

The Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester's mission is to to provide support to those coping with a breast cancer diagnosis, to make education and advocacy a priority, and to empower women and men to participate fully in decisions relating to breast cancer. Our focus is on breast and gynecological cancer support, education and advocacy. We also fund breast cancer research that focuses on cause (initiation), prevention, and halting progression of disease (metastasis).

Fund pediatric brain cancer research & support families

The local chapter the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati has been operating for the past decade to create public awareness about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, to provide support, resources, and education to ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers; and to fund research focused on early detection and a cure.

The foundation funds and promotes preclinical research into ETMR (embryonal tumor with multilayered rosettes) and other rare pediatric brain cancers, supporting scientific collaboration and researchers working toward better treatments and cures; it also raises funds to support affected children and families.
