MANY UNDERPRIVILEGED CANCER PATIENTS IN THIRD-WORLD COUNTRIES SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND THEIR MEDICAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND THEIR TREATMENT OPTIONS. THE INITIAL AND ONGOING FOCUS IS TO GET THE INFORMATION TO THOSE PATIENTS WHO MOST NEED IT. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES FREE CLASSES AND MATERIALS (SUCH AS LEAFLETS AND HANDOUTS). THE SECOND PROGRAM IS THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS. THIS PROGRAM WILL NECESSARILY REQUIRE SUBSTANTIAL FUNDING IN THE LONG-TERM, TO COVER THE COST OF MEDICATION, MEDICAL SUPPLIES, FACILITIES AND STAFF.
THE H FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR BASIC SCIENCE CANCER RESEARCH, SUPPORTING THE EARLY, NOVEL IDEAS THAT MAY LEAD RESEARCH TEAMS TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL GRANTS AND ADVANCEMENTS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.
