Emfasis is the brainchild of a team of Greek citizens living overseas who work hand in hand with social experts and volunteers, providing a humanitarian response to Greece's dire needs during one of its deepest socio-economic crisis in history. Emfasis was founded to address the holistic needs of all vulnerable and socially excluded groups in need of social, psychological , family support using the principles of Social Street Working as its main way of approach and identification of such groups. It also offers advisory support whilst devising a full care programme for each case. Emfasis Social Street Work operates on a neighborhood level, or at areas where it has been identified that there are vulnerable "pockets" of population.
