THE BLOOM GROUP

THE MICHENER INSTITUTE

The Michener Institute is Canada's leading post-secondary educational institution for applied health sciences. Founded in 1958 and located in downtown Toronto, Michener's unique combination of theory, laboratory instruction and clinical education prepares health professionals to meet the growing demands of Canada's health care system. Michener's expertise in applied health science education is nationally and internationally renowned. We serve over 800 full-time and 4,000 continuing education students with more than 30 academic offerings, and are constantly developing new programs to meet the changing needs of Canada's health care system.

The Krasman Centre

The Krasman Centre is a consumer/survivor initiative which operates a drop-in centre for people who have mental health issues and/or experience homelessness. We have a recovery focus and operate a family support program as well. We are open six days per week including most holidays. We offer a peer-run non-crisis Warm Line seven nights per week from 6pm until midnight and all are welcome to call: 1-888-777-0979. We are located in Richmond Hill but serve all of York Region and the Central LHIN.

The Marguerite Centre

he Marguerite Centre is the only facility of its kind in Nova Scotia for women recovering from addictions and abuse. It is a place where holistic therapies such as reiki, yoga, acupuncture, journal writing and healing circle are as prevalent as conventional therapies; a place where nature and spirituality hold an integral place in the journey. Located in the Halifax Regional Municipality, The Marguerite Centre is staffed 24 hours a day. Residents receive their own room, can live here for up to a year, and are empowered to create their own path to healing and recovery. Counsellors work with residents to develop positive personal and family plans and goals.

The SHARP Foundation

The SHARP Foundation is a Calgary based, non-profit, charitable organization that provides a spectrum of integrated (medical, physical, psychosocial and spiritual aspects) care to our community's most vulnerable persons living with HIV/AIDS. We offer hope, dignity and compassion in a safe, non-judgemental environment. SHARP currently operates 4 residential care facilities: • Project Kathleen - 24/7 supported care for women with complex health/psychosocial profiles • Beswick House - a 24-hour supportive living environment for 10 people living with HIV / AIDS, including palliative care support. • Scott House - a program to address the needs of clients who require support to successfully establish themselves into independent living situations. • Project 2011 - Provides longer term housing and supports for individuals who have demonstrated an ability to live more independently in a group home setting. THE VOBOC FOUNDATION

VOBOC’s three free services: 1) Vo-Pak program VOBOC delivers free backpacks to oncology units to give to their new cancer patients on their first day of treatment. Each Vo-Pak (venturing out pack) contains tools and resources to help patients navigate through the cancer treatment experience. 2) Granting of Special Requests At the request from medical teams, VOBOC considers and grants Special Requests to patients in palliative care whose circumstances require VOBOC’s assistance in order to realize the request. 3) Education and Awareness VOBOC supports and leads initiatives that raise awareness and public sensitivity to the increasing occurrence of cancers in adolescents and young adults.
