The Young Naturalists’ Club is a network of family and school nature clubs led by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about nature. The program is designed for young people, aged 5 - 12, who care about nature in this beautiful province of British Columbia. We get young people and their families outside and excited about nature. Children are spending less time outdoors which is affecting not only their connection to the natural world but their ability to learn, their social development and their health. We discover nearby nature through our family field trips (Explorer Days), individual initiatives (Action Awards) and our quarterly publication (NatureWILD), the only children's magazine that focuses on BC nature and environment.

MitoCanada provides support and awareness to Canadians affected by Mitochondrial Disease while also supporting the advance of research in the field of Mitochondrial Disease. MitoCanada hopes to connect Canadians who are directly and indirectly affected by mitochondrial disease. Our hope is to reach all patients, parents, caregivers and the medical community. MitoCanada is raising awareness of this too often under-diagnosed, misdiagnosed and misunderstood, life altering disease among the medical profession and our society at large. We will actively seek both volunteer and financial support from within the mito community and are very aware of our need for individual and corporate sponsorship; all of which will be essential to bring about a wider understanding, new treatments and to reach the ultimate goal, a cure.
As the largest specialized or 'tertiary' centre east of Toronto our programs are aimed at treating people with complex and serious mental illnesses that are often resistant to conventional treatments. In addition to inpatient beds, the majority of these programs feature day treatment options and outreach activities for patients living in the community. Each and every one of us has a personal connection to mental illness given that one out of every five people in Canada is affected. They are our mothers, brothers, colleagues and friends – they are those we know and love and we want to ensure they receive the very best care when they need it. The need for support has never been greater -please donate as generously as you can today to help us make a difference.
Through therapeutic riding, horses help physically and mentally challenged children achieve things that may seem impossible. They help an autistic child make connections and improve communication skills. They lend a six-year-old child, confined since birth to a wheelchair, his legs to run through a field. Relying solely on donations and fundraising, Rainbow Riders operates from a full-time facility that can house 14 horses and ponies and provides an indoor riding arena to support year-round operation. This work is only possible with the assistance of generous donations from members of the provincial community. Any contribution that you make will make a difference and will help us continue to provide our valuable program to children of our province who live with disabilities.
